hi guys,

im on non-o (married with a thai wife)

well as you can imagine i have to do this visa thing every 90 days.

I was wondering if i fly to vientiene and come back to BKK on the same day?  like fly there morning. and afternoon come back to thailand and get another 90 days. I know normally no problem with this but i dont want to spent 1 night in laos.

Also, im not american or european national.. so do you know if i can get a arrival visa at vientiene airport or its better to get it from the laos embassy in bkk?

thanks

You can do an out and back on the same day to get a new 90 day entry form your visa.

Not sure why you want to fly to Vientiane. Kuala Lumpur would be a better choice if you qualify for a visa exempt entry there.

You can get a Lao visa on arrival unless you are from one the countries shown on this webpage. https://www.laos-guide-999.com/laos-visa-on-arrival.html

thanks for the great info ????

i want vientiane because its cheaper to fly there than Kuala Lumpur. Haven't checked yet but i will soon.

So, you sure i can fly and come back on the same day. No problem?

thnx again

What passport do you hold?

Pointless asking without telling.

turkish. Normally no problem by border crossing and get a new 90 days. But this time i dont want to drive for hours and so on.. just want to fly and come back on the same day. As far as i know i cant get arrival visa at laos. Malaysia.. no need visa... But laos is faster.. so jsut need to know if there will be a problem at the thai immigration at the airport if i come back on the same day.

Kuala Lumpur (Air Asia 2,100bht) sounds like the place for you to go, 90 day free visa waiver on entry.

If you go to Laos (Air Asia 1,800bht) it costs an extra $35/1500bht for a VISA on entry and a page from your Passport used.

Siem Reap (Air Asia 1,100bht) might work out cheaper.

As said you will get a 90 day visa exempt entry for Malaysia. Better than having to apply for a visa at the Lao embassy.

No problem for a same day turnaround. Many have done it.

You will have to apply at the Lao embassy for a visa. Turkey is on the list " 27. Turkey"

Earlier this year I flew to KL and spent one night in the Tune Hotel at the airport. Decent place and cheap - if you book make sure you are not booking a day room, which is cheaper still. Plenty of places to eat in the airport (three minutes walk) if you don't want to eat in the hotel.

As for a Laos quick in and out, I live not much more than 100 kms from Mukdahan and entered Laos from there and stayed just a few minutes before heading back into Thailand and been back home for lunch.
