Where to buy biodegradable krathong?

Too commercialised now, every man and dog is trying to put somr crap together to make 20bt.

 

I am sure you can find the real ones, which are made from thin slices of a banana tree.

Or makr your own, great fun.

We made one out of ice yesterday,the ultimate biodegradable.

Ask around for "Thamachat" krathong made using banana leaves (bai kluai) and flowers. Don't put joss sticks and candles on krathongs if you want to prevent the rivers from becoming filled up with wax and joss stick ashes.

 

But then again, Thais don't care about the trash they dump into the wild. Their thinking is: Tham boon, get good karma, and I will be rich soon.
