Russia Dismisses Trump’s Ukraine Peace Plan Offers 3 Day Ceasefire
Wow that's another level of Putin a-kissing. The collapse of Minsk agreement is well documented and can be viewed in public domain that in early January 2015, Russia sent another large batch of its regulars, which together with separatist forces of DPR and LPR began a new offensive on UKraine and broke the agreement. -

Report Abandoned Abroad: British Pensioner in Thailand Slams 'Immoral' Frozen Pensions Policy
Exactly my point - it doesn't, yet UK residents in these countries do not have their pensions frozen. Oops. I had missed your point. My bad. As I understand it, that's due to treaties that probably benefit the UK in some manner. There is no such treaty with LOS. But there is with the Phils. I'm wondering if any Brits will be moving their residence from Thailand to the Phils to kill 2 birds. To get their full, fair adjusted pension and to dodge any recently announced Thai income taxes. Seems to me that spending half their time outside of Thailand may be a good idea. Or is that a flawed plan? -

growing food
I live at 1000 m above sea level in Chiang mai province. We grow bananas ,mulberry guava, mango, limes, kafir limes lemon, papaya, passionfruit, pomelo occassional pineapple, This is either from trees that were on the property or from what we planted starting 8years ago. ,That list is what has actually produced fruit. In the list of things we are waiting to fruit are Macademia, avocado, oranges, jack fruit, coconut palm, We planted several breadfruit a year ago ,but all but one died due to an extremely cold January all but three night were in the single digits this year. The survivor lost all its leaves but has sprouted new ones . Vegetables ;several types of beans for eating green and drying ,lettuce (several varieties ,no iceberg) pak choy swiss chard ,kale , pak canna ,tomatoes, several varieties of tomatiloes or husk tomatoes, sweet poatoes. Various types of chili peppers, herbs (italian basil struggles to survive the rainy season as do other mediteranean herbs probably do better under some rain protection,Thai basil ,lemon grass.rose mary parsley cilantro, cardoman, Its much more challenging to grow in the tropics than first imagined, more pests, long dry season, poor soil quality, and high heat and humidity.hope this helps -

Are young farangs out of control?
If they can’t behave they should be deported. Everyone thinks they can come to Thailand and be ass holes. They can’t do this in there on country but in Thailand it’s acceptable and easy to just pay a fine. And keep doing it. It ruins Thailand for everyone else. -

Almost Refused Entry at Chiang Mai Airport -Be Warned! - 2nd Visa Exemption
Yeah, Siem Reap $297 per year retirement visa, hi, pay, bye. No reports, no extensive forms, no rentry costs, 2 hours from the border. I had to fix a bank problem a few weeks back. The Thai lady IO asked why I was coming to Thailand. I told her I had to go to ATM and was only staying 15 minutes or so. No problem, she thought that was funny.
