The late, great Roy Orbison on Obby Dooby originally from '61.

That can't be '61.  I see Springsteen on guitar and Tom Waits on the electronic piano.

Aren't we supposed to use the other thread for 50's and 60's oldies ?

Never mind, this is a classic by Pulp 1995 - Year 2000

Reminds me of when I was a seafaring idiot.  A friend of mine and I, both landlubbers, once cast off from the shores of the Shedd Aquarium into the frigid waters of Lake Michigan early June in a two man sailboat.  The kind that was little more than a large surfboard with a mast attached.  Off into the waters we went and just as soon we heard a whole lot of yelling coming from the shore.  We turned back to look and there was a group of young women holding up and waving our life vests in the air.  Ah well, we were young and confidant.  Unnecessary weight we concluded and continued to head out for the deep.

The seas were rough . . . rougher than we anticipated . . . and with us being fledgling sailors the wind and the waves seemed to carry us off, despite our will, into uncharted waters.  A boat motored close by us, laughing and lobbing taunts of Cracker Jack sailors at us.  They were good humoured enough to toss us a couple of cans of beer, though.

Adrift and on a course not of our choosing we ended up stuck in the mouth of DuSable Harbour.  For how long I can't remember but we eventually made our way to the barriers surrounding the harbour, bobbing up against the jagged rocks trying to find a way onto them.  We then heard a siren blowing and up pulls the Chicago Harbour police to pluck us out of the waters.  Apparently we had been holding up boat traffic into and out of the harbour long enough for calls to be made to the authorities.  Got back to land, knelt down, and kissed the ground.

After that massive concert please all stand for the anthem.

You B'stards, it gonna take me all night to get through that

lot

The Pogues from the '84 Red Roses For Me LP.

Years ago i came home and found out my car was gone, along with the girl who was staying with me.Never saw her or the car again!!!Six months later the police found the car wrecked and abandoned somewhere in Holland, still with the French plates.

Not long after that i got a bill from a towing company for towing and storage.Did i pay?Hell no!

The carwas not that great anyway but my Pogues cd was in there!

Roger showing his brilliance, both in melody and lyrics. Thanks Slaps for reminding me of this album.

This was talked about before,i suggested to put the two music threads together but not everyone agreed with my saying music is timeless.Lets have a vote?Because if we do not fuse them the old music one is going to die!!

No it won't. Less can often mean more ( quality).

We shall go on to the end. We shall fight over Brexit, we shall fight on the websites and pages, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength on the internet, we shall defend our thread, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight in the fifties, we shall fight in the sixties, we shall fight in the seventies; we shall never surrender.

Actually Tippers could post a lot of his stuff on the 50s to 70s thread but the numbers of listeners there is small so as an aspiring DJ he posts on the modern thread. at least that is my theory.

Like i said,it will slowly die.Not many young people will remember that speech.Lets face it,us older folks will die.

Just in case there will be another referendum in the UK,maybe they could make this part of the vote?

I would like to post a few Sex Pistols songs but i won't.

I'm a remainder to the core jvs: remain in Europe, remain in Thailand and remain on Thai Visa.

I'd better leave this thread for a bit and remain in the 50-70s thread for a while as that Essex car lover is a Brexiteer to the core and he has a dog called Gnasher.

They were right after all,Bangkok traffic jam.

Geezus key riced.  I just got home I'm tired drunk cranky so I figured on relaxing with some music so I open up one of my favourite threads and another bottle of beer and halfta read a bunch of squabbling amongst a bunch of old washed up has been long haired hippies who aint even got any hair left and maybe no teeth neither about something preserving our musical hertitaghe and do we do this or that or the other and my head is spinning more than before and what do I think and what do I say about it and I don't know I just lost the thought.  I think I keep my mouth shut so I don't get into any fisticuffs cause right now the booze makes me feel all powerful like I can just go to sleep Maybe I can put this to music.  I'm done for tonight boys and thats all I gotta say

Yes banno, you have my vote of no confidence in your

music, but don't leave us, variety and discovery is everything,

besides Gnasher and I would have nothing to grumble about.

I do try to listen to everything posted, until Tittyporn went

berzerk yesterday, and the guts of me speakers is hangin oot.

Be a remainer of the eclectic nutters forum.
