The issues is that people displaced during 1947 etc. possessed title deeds to land they purchased, or land that had been legally bequeathed to him. Only a small minority of Jewish immigrants from Europe could actually trace origins to the historic territory, because in Eastern Europe, conversions of Christian people to the Jewish faith did occur.
