The remap you did on that ... did you have to cap the torque in the lower gears or was/is that not necessary.

Are you going to publish the graphs ... would be interesting .. tks

Even the German made "Race Chip" that is fitted in minutes made a nice improvement to my Vigo...????

TA ... I had the stage 1 Racechip on my V-Cross for a while, did notice that the engine ran smoother low down. Someone brought it over for me ... I later sold it for what it cost.

Seem to recall blanking the EGR made it feel better as well.

I still have the EGR blanking plates if anyone is interested

1) Not necessary, torque limit in stock file is around  400Nm@~2200 RPM and with stage 1 it reaches that value at ~2800 RPM with max. 460Nm@3800RPM. Besides, the gearbox can handle much higher torques.

2) Last time we put Pajero Sport on dyno about 7 years ago, and in Europe ????  It's an old car (with even older engine LOL) where all solutions are already well known and tested, esp. for a simple stage 1 tune with EGR off.

PS What material are your blanking plates made of and what's their thickness?

SS, have just checked and they are between 55th and 57th so that is about 1.4mm ... my mic is a bit old! You can see that one plate has been slightly modified as we put it after the cooler whereas it was designed to go before the cooler and bolt hole centers were slightly different ... you can PM me if interested ... but they will be the best that you will find in Thailand ... as said they were fitted to the New D-Max 3Ltr .. we had the 2012 3Ltr V-Cross.

When the warranty runs out on our MY15 EVT+ two years left as I bought extra, I will get Mr Ritter to look at it............

A bit thin if you ask me, I usually use 2-2.5mm stainless steel.

Are you a proper mechanical engineer ..............

...And I have also seen burned holes in thinner ones ????

You can see from the graph I posted there is hardly any torque below 2500 rpm. It shoots up and drops off fast. I assume this is intentional by mitsubishi. Perhaps to make it more driveable at lower rpm or to save the gearbox. The remap seems to work very well to fill in that hole, but I don't know the long term effect on the engine.

Blanking off egr system is a bad idea on the new designed diesel engine by all accounts an engineer told me, just make sure the system is checked at 25,000 miles ( 40,000 K ).

Those plates were supplied by a guy who was 'right at the top' of maintence at a large dealership. He fitted them to his before supplying ...he should know ... and he still has the vehicle with quite a few kms on it now.

It seems that all vehicles have egr now, so in some cases it could very well be unwise ... also on some the check engine light illuminates unless a small hole is drilled in the blank

Anyway it is over three years since I sold the V-Cross and the plates have been just laying around.

My info was from a UK senior diesel engineer that does development work, blanking maybe for older models with EGR systems but technology has moved on as it usually does, the 2017/2018 new diesel engines from Isuzu have the latest EGR systems so I'm told.

Wow. Awesome. You will be 2 seconds faster than my Pajero. Congrats. But stop driving like a <deleted> at night.
