Policeman shoots dead male tourist at Trendy Building in Bangkok

If you had any doubt that the Thais don't want farang tourists, this may be the "proof" that you are looking for?

Or possibly the Thai cop was upset that the farang tourist was going to "spirit away" one of the "tourist attractions" of LOS, and wanted some kind of recompense?

:sorry:

Be smart, you can never win an argument with a Thai!

Unfortunate incident...police have the guns...power is intoxicating...when someone gets senselessly killed like this...makes original disagreement moot in wake of grief which follows...

Not just a Thai problem...

I think the original post inferred that in Thailand, people have low IQs and act recklessly to save face.

"a low IQ face saver, with no self control. Only in the land of smiles."

This story would prove both the above points IMO.

1) 'act recklessly to save face' - follows French tourist (who might or might not have been rooting his ex) and guns him down in cold blood after being subdued in hand-to-hand combat. Quite typical of many Thai males, if I might say so.

2) 'have low IQs' - the pleb in question shot his victim in the head from near point blank range in broad daylight in a busy office/apartment complex in front of dozens if not a hundred+ onlookers and of course all was caught on CCTV.

I'm not saying this skidmark is the 'norm' here, but he seems to be in good company within the RTP.

Sadly i've heard this one a few times before. I just wonder the back ground to the altercation, ex girlfriend, loss of face ? blah blah blah...... I remember twenty five years ago when a copper walked up behind a farang in Silom and shot him in the back of head, all because he fancied his girlfriend..... and the cop in Kanchanaburi that killed two young westerners all because the boyriend got upset with him flirting with his girlfriend, both in their early twenties......... Third world krackers.........

They were both drunk, Cop was not in uniform, lost fistfight. Somebody gave a gun to the cop who chased the French Tourist then and executed him. Cop surrendered and is suspended from duty. According to BKK Post.

Thai police are just the average Thai male in a brown uniform.

Correct. And when they (some of them) get drunk, they'll react like the "average Thai male", again , some of them. Difference is that they're allowed to carry guns.

They should arrest the pratt that gave a drunk man a gun...... Oh but in true fashion he's probably on a bus back to Buri nowhere as we speak.....

Meanwhile the “werewolf” serial killer was caught in Russia recently after accumulating a kill count of 75+ humans. A random gunman in Las Vegas goes on a Gatling gun shooting spree ( just because he felt like it ) and guns down 500+ concert goers. Where are all the sociopaths in Thailand? Where is this country’s blood lust?

I recommend watching the movies LA Confidential, Serpico, Rampart, Training Day, Copland and Leon. Why not brush up on serial killers like Gacy, Bundy, and Dahmer as well? It wasn’t long ago that the United States was littered with police corruption itself. Police corruption is standard with any developing nation. To be honest, I’m stunned that there is not more violence and murder in Thailand. They’re clearly doing something right.

What keeps the Thais in check? Buddhism? Or is it the low testosterone levels from being so close to the equator? Conditions in Northern Europe / Russia ( where most serial killers genetics stem from ) were harsh. Food was scarce. It was truly a survival of the fittest environment. Only the most ruthless prevailed.

In Thailand, food and land was plenty. Chilling, Chilling all the time, there was no reason for testosterone levels to sky rocket and turn men into animas  like you have in Russia and the US ( due to all the Russian bloodlines ).

Besides ladyboys, the most dangerous people in Thailand are Russians. Have you seen the size of these people? Their women are massive and grotesque!!

Anyone retarded enough to get in a fight with a police officer deserves what’s coming. Most likely “white trash” scum and good riddance.

Thailand is a safe place as long as you behave. Stop hating on it or move back home if you think it’s so terrible. Bugs big time.

"Where are all the sociopaths in Thailand? Where is this country’s blood lust?"

They haven't got modern assault rifles yet.

"To be honest, I’m stunned that there is not more violence and murder in Thailand."

There is probably a lot more violence at least that does not get reported - at least in the media/press. And have you not noticed that in the majority of cases that are reported on ThaiVisa, if the perpetrator is a farang, his/her nationality is usually plastered over the headline? If it is a Thai it is usually left to your imagination. (That may be partly due to ThaiVisa being an English language site)

"Besides ladyboys, the most dangerous people in Thailand are Russians. Have you seen the size of these people? Their women are massive and grotesque!!"

Not worthy of comment!

"Anyone retarded enough to get in a fight with a police officer deserves what’s coming. Most likely “white trash” scum and good riddance."

Maybe he had no option? We don't know the reason for the fight, and apparently the police officer was not in uniform, so your "deserved what's coming" comment is a bit unfounded, as is your "white trash" scum comment - complete and absolute unfounded conjecture.

"move back home if you think it’s so terrible."

Yawn - not again! That type of comment has been done to death on here, (but as you're a relative "newbie" you may not have noticed) and you probably think that nobody should be allowed an opinion if it doesn't fit in with "Thailand's image"

That is what "Bugs big time"!

Update correction to your post. That was his gun which he handed to the staff for safekeeping. He collected his gun to gun down the French guy.

A friend of the victim said he had gotten into an altercation with Kantapong at a nearby bar. She said Kantapong was upset that he lost the fight and followed the victim back to the building and shot him in front of a Dunkin’ Donuts shop.

Speaking to reporters, Maj. Gen. Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn said Kantapong had confessed to shooting the man out of jealousy over a woman.

Case closed. Is Big Joke on this case ?

Apparently, the cop chased the guy into the Trendy building and shot him there, after the argument.  I thought cops were supposed to uphold the law and not shoot people just because the cops have guns.  The cop shot the poor tourist in the head.  It is a pity that the law does not allow the cop to receive a similar punishment.  No doubt, he will claim self defence.

I'll never look at a jam filled donut again. Never argue with Thai cops; never argue with Thai men; never argue with Thai women; never argue with anybody...Here or anywhere else in the world.
