A school boy in Chaiyaphum was rushed to hospital on Wednesday after stabbing himself with a pencil.

The boy was running with the pencil in his hand when he tripped over and fell, which resulted in the pencil becoming lodged in his thigh.

Teachers said they wanted to share images of the incident as a warning to other students.

The boy was taken to Chaiyaphum Hospital where the pencil was safely removed.

The boy has since been discharged and is expected to make a full recovery.

I worry about this happening to mine too.

The boys are all obsessed with holding pencils all day at school, I have to prise it out of his hand at home.

Just proves the line by Stan Laurel, from a Laurel & Hardy film: "You can take a horse to water, but a pencil must be lead."

That's kind of sharp. No, no, not the pencil . The expression is sharp. Got me?
