Do you have evidence that the people you clearly disagree with have not cast their votes in US Federal elections. Or are simply trying to fabricate an argument that your views are somehow more valid? 3 1

Well said sir! I for one am sick of the liberal mainstream media making Donald Trump look bad by airing raw, unedited footage of things he's actually said and publishing verifiable accounts of things he actually did. It's just not on! 4 6

No doubt he will tell his base that it's needed in the interests of national security. 1

Be that as it may... but you marginalize the fact that the same thing applies, in spades, to the dems they were overwhelmingly returned to power in Congress, with a mandate to oppose trumpian theology, so if they give in to trumps first attempt at blackmail, they might as well go home. and.... congress has passed a resolution here... it should go to the senate for approval ( or refusal), before being put to trump. If McConnell refuses (as he is being quoted as saying) he is derilict in his duty to the peoples of the United States..... and should be removed from his position. 3

It would be an ecological disaster, and would make us look bad in the eyes of the world, Really bad!! And all of this because trump has small hands. 6 2

Popular Post spidermike007 Posted January 4, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 4, 2019 Trump will forever be cast as the villian, when it comes to the shutdown, since 70% of Americans do not think we can afford, nor do we need the silly wall. He is digging the hole deeper by the day. 400,000 -800,000 people out of work is going to come back and bite him on the butt. Now, if he offered to pay them a salary out of his own pocket, while they were off work, he might get some sympathy. But, we all know he does not have a charitable heart. Congress is in control now and it is a whole different ball game, now that you have a group representing the majority, like it or not. Congress does not even have to address the wall, which is a waste of time and money. Well, Trump has been dictating policy. Now congress at least has to try to instill some reason and take the infantile emotionalism out of the process. At least there are some adults in congress now. 4

I think we're already seeing Trump today trying to weasel out of this and make it look like a win. He's now referring to the "wall" as a "barrier" and even "border security," so that he seems to know he can't win this unless he re-characterizes this to "border security," something all have been willing to support from the beginning. I think he will end up having to settle for about $2 billion for "border security," which nobody is opposed to, and will have make concessions on DACA, etc.. So, look for Trump to slime his way around to no longer calling this a wall, (though that got him in big trouble last time with Ann Coulter, etc., but even his Co-President (Sean Hannity) is now looking to be advising this. 1 2

Both sides of the political divide in Congress agreed and voted in support of this. By al means seek to find the details (you can do that yourself, nobody here owes you the details), but don’t make out that the details have not been discussed and received bipartisan support in the House. 1
