Householders are now banned from lighting fires in Lan Krabu Sub-district.

 

If they light a fire, council employees visit and ensure it is extinguished.

 

Note that there is a good collection system for general and green waste.

 

I was amazed and pleased to hear of this progessive policy, and hope that it spreads.

 

(Unfortunately where I live the burning continues. And will continue because the council tells us to bury food scraps and green waste: keen to dig holes anyone? and food for rats. They even removed green coconut shells from the bin and left them there.)
