I am debating whether to take this tread in a new direction with more pictures or to start a new topic.  What do you think?

  • Great pics and a nice story.  A very pleasant change from the usual drama.....

That is why I decided to post this.  I took a rather long break from TVF but thought I might test the waters again with something a little more positive.

I sold the Ninja 650 a few years ago and bought a nice bike for roughly the same price.  Much better exercise.????   When I am not out peddling or hiking you might catch me training my racing

Either way -- there's always Ansel Adams:

I suspect Ansel never made it to Thailand.

His level of technique maybe hasn't either.

New topic.  Keep it narrative and pictures, avoid controversy.  Save that sort of banter and bickering for this thread, and focus the new thread on the specifics, the story, the road porn.

Thank you.  I have been giving it some thought but there is just so much to choose from.  I am having trouble framing it and coming up with a catchy title.  Chiang Rai - East. or I live in Chiang Rai and I like it here. or Country Living or Northern Delights or do you have any suggestions?

I don't think I am the person to ask.  My photo-story thread only gets about 10 - 20% contributions by others, I'd hoped for more.

But focus on the story, the pictures; don't give people anything they can argue with; save that for the General forum.

EDIT: to be fair, my thread is a bit off-topic, based on where I live.  But I think cycling in Thailand is not so different

Beautiful Thailand ?

There are a few photos threads specifically for landscapes, temples, still life, trees, people in Thailand etc , etc
So you should make it a title to catch people’s attention .
Don’t put Chiang Rai in the title as people who don’t live in Northern Thailand ( like myself) would skip over it , yet something like Beautiful Thailand or Beautiful Thailand Photos will certainly get my attention, and my subscription.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I have had photo threads in the past and they get lost if they are located in one of the smaller sub-forums.  I would like to do something which includes a storyline and might appeal to a broader audience but I understand most people won't read anything longer than a paragraph.  I am working on something now but I am not happy with it yet and it is way too long.????

Country Living sounds perfect. It's not limiting like Chiang Rai would be, yet it's definitive enough to embrace the kind of posts that would be appropriate.

You never really know how much people read of the longer posts.  I think people have shorter attention spans in General and the Pub.

As I said, I like it here but I like it even more now that the burning season is over and I can get out in nature more.  Seems to be good for the body and spirit. ????
