The move followed a raid on gambling den in Kad Kom area in Tambon Hai Ya of Muang district on Tuesday that rounded up 79 punters (35 men and 44 women) along with several hundred decks of cards, Bt575,967.50 in cash, four baccarat tables, three bill counters and some computers.

The transfer order was signed by Provincial Police Region 5 chief Pol Maj-General Montri Sambunyanont.

Does anybody know what an inactive Police post entails, the active post don't seam very active.

Does any of them ever lose their jobs?

Seems gambling is for women and booze with karaoke girls for men in Thailand.

NO. They sit at a desk fully paid until the investigation is completed. Ever heard of a internal investigation going against the BIB? LOL.

This is the Thai way of saying they were fired.

If all of the negligent Thai cops were transferred to an inactive post you only have two or three active cops! Could take some of the political leaders right along with them.

Inactive posts MAY NOT get a cut of all the cash collected during their 'inactivity'........... LOL .......

Along with the article in the OP, you're confusing "negligence" and "looking the other way".

I'm pretty sure there was due diligence when it came time to collect the protection money.
