I was told that bars are to be closed on Saturday as practice for the elections the following week.

I find this very strange even for a nut-nuts place like this that they decided to actually practice closing.

Can anyone confirm or shed light on this?

Alcohol sales are forbidden from 6pm on Saturday the 16th to 6pm on Sunday the 17th  for early voting and voting out of district.

Same hours on the 23rd and 24th for the elections.

Democracy in action.

And be thankful

Reopening on Sunday 6 PM is even an exception from the former closure until Sunday midnight.

So only one weekend party evening spoiled.
