Video: iPhone thief is Chiang Mai DJ - claims depression made her do it then has fit in the cells

A Chiang Mai DJ gave herself up to police following CCTV footage that showed her removing an iPhone X from a display stand at a Chiang Mai shop in early March.

The woman was wanted on a warrant after what appeared a cool and calculated theft, one of many according to online reports.

But the woman, not named by Daily News, told Capt Amornchai Trangwatcharakun of the Phuping police that she was suffering from depression and couldn't be held responsible for her actions.

She said her mental disorder caused her to do it and she was depressed also.

Sources close to the investigation said that she was put in the cells pending investigation into her medical claims.

On Saturday evening she had a fit and reportedly started foaming at the mouth in the cells and had to be taken to hospital where she remains under medical supervision.

Relatives have arrived at the Phuping police with 30,000 baht to bail her out.

She is said to have previously attempted suicide.

Well, there you are then. She can claim that she was disconnecting the power cords to prevent accidents and the phone must have slipped, unnoticed, into her purse.

Is anybody in this country ever responsible for their actions?

25% of all the women in the world are taking medication for mental problems/issues.

The bad news is that leaves 75% of them untreated.

Thainess! Can't take any responsibility for their wrongdoings.

"mental disorder" "depressed", pathetic. She wanted the money, simple as that.

I don`t know the price for an iPhone X but having it on display

as they had it in this shop, you are begging for it!!

Apparently I'm responsible for whatever my missus does !!

she is cute, so let her off with a small slap.

She was depressed that she couldn't afford an iPhone. Understandable.

Nice try! The family members can just pay for her phone rather then pay bailout. Amazing Thailand

Yeah right but somehow her mental condition does allow her to turn herself in now after CCTV recordings went public.
Judge will not fall for this without big money, hope she thought about that part too as she seems to be very very calculated and guilty.

The bribe fine to be remited to the all the officials involved, all along the food chain, will probably cost her the price of 2 X phones !!

A recent survey found that one in every three women is just as conniving as the other two.
