Specialist audio shops in bkk? I'm not actually there right now... have messaged a couple through Lazada but they don't have what I'm looking for.

That looks like the sort of cable you might find trawling through the parts shops at Pantip or Zeer. NPE might be worth a try.

You don't pay import duties or tax on such small things, so no problem ordering this from china.

Just use a stereo one, can be found everywhere and will work as well. If in the future you stumble about a mono cable you can still replace it then to make it look more tidy ????

you mean use one connection in a 2, and leave the other dangling?

yes

And this is completely safe? I've already got a couple of electric shocks off the back of this sub... but admittedly that was when I was using the wrong cable.

It's not possible to get an electric shock from such a cable, unless the device to which you are connecting it is faulty, i doubt the voltage is higher than a few volt.

If you connect such a stereo 3.5mm / rca into a mono 3.5mm port, the one rca connector will be connected to power and mass, but the second one which will dangle arround will be connected to mass two times, so you have 0 volt on the unused rca connector.

What sub do you own? Is this to connect active speakers (without an amp) to a sub?

I think the cable you are using should be coax, if you search 3.5mm to coax RCA you can find a few cables on Shopee or Lazada, but they are stereo 3.5mm.

If you order from AliExpress you aren’t going to get hit with any duty on any cable under 1000b any way, and most things will come via China post and seem to avoid any duty, I have had parcels up to 4000b delivered just fine.

If you want a custom cable made, then speak to ghentaudio.com, its not expensive and they can dispatch very quickly.

Yeah it's an active Paradigm PDR sub, which I'm connected to active speakers.

It's not working.... All I can hear is a low hum. I used one side of a 2 male RCA to mini jack, as suggested above. Any ideas anyone....?

I've attached the photo of the instructions

Photo upside down... Apologies if I made anyone dizzy!

Does it have speaker level inputs?  I have always found that those connections sound much better than the RCA or Neutrik (REL).

oh...wait...you’re trying to connect the sub to the Qs.  Just email Piyanas and ask them.  They have cables to suit all budgets.
