I was on Beach Road all afternoon yesterday, for the Parade which was as excellent as always, and never got soaked once.

No idea why people make such a fuss, the majority of the town is dry.

Don't be silly. When it starts it lasts until the climax in Pattaya, the 19th.

An hour after the parade finished I got a baht bus from Soi2 to Hard Rock and did get soaked. You were lucky or I was unlucky.

So when you go out during these TOO MANY DAYS and also NIGHTS, you're aware that at any time you may get hit. It's kind of nerve wracking, especially if you're sitting on a stopped baht bus.

Nothing to do with luck !

I stuck to the beach side pavement the whole afternoon.

Taking a baht bus down Beach Road, is asking to get soaked IMO.

Yes the only way to stay dry is to walk everywhere and swap road sides every time you see a wet patch outside a bar. Gets boring real quick, especially in 100F heat.

You are right. I walked by the beach yesterday and stayed dry. All the baht busses got done. Alas, I had to get a bus to Naklua from 2nd road, so ran the gauntlet and eventually copped it on Naklua Road.

That sounds like driving a scooter any given day in Thailand. You never know who's going to mow you down. Such excitement daily in here.

Watched some thai hillbillys drench a poor indian businessman  with a new iphone in hand at the front of 7/11.

They wouldn't do that to a thai business man i bet, He would go apesh#t .

I'm still dry. Went out on a bike ride , nothing happened , that was earlier today.
