It's probably just as bad knowing your team is capable but never quite getting there.

Stop your bloody whinging boys

Misery loves company.   Looks certain out of all the clubs that our sub-forum members root for, the highest rung on the ladder at season end shall be Sydney at no higher than tenth spot.

BTW excellent tipping Will.   Here's your elephant stamp. 🐘

Just Checked WCE, only one wooden spoon, you haven't got records like biggest loosing margin or record scores kicked against you in a GF, both Bombers and Hawks walloped us in the 2000, then biggest score kicked against you and biggest loosing margins in home and away, Lions and Cats thanks, I was at the Lion's game by the way, then yesterdays biggest comeback in AFL history to win, all belong to the Demons, and in my time seen a few 10 goal leads evaporate,  one stands out in my memorey 10 goals was a bealting in those days, one day at the G 10 min into second quarter leading by 10 goals against the Bombers, ended up loosing by something like 5 or 6 goals...North in the 70s did it too, there where a few more.

Any way we are ok this morning, we Demon supporters have evolved into something like aliens, have grown insensitive to feelings and pain since we got and get so much of it, we walk around with eyes straight forward no blinking as if we are shelled shocked...this is our normal look...I guess its a zombie look ...the TGF last night thought it funny when she asked why I was so quite while we where driving to dinner, and I responded said thinking about football, an even bigger smile came on her face, hey I said its not funny, its serious......for a man..

Simon in the wars this morning a la Voss, guess the game triggered a few emotions in some younger Dee fans who haven't built the Amarillo armour...

Im pretty sure we are all looking forward to the end of the season, but worse for Demon supporters the off season where they dont normally do any soul searching and just recycle is a bigger pain...

I\ve been getting my feel better therapy from watching Tottenham youtube channels whinging about no signings.

Clarko and other coaches head overseas and study basketball, nfl, soccer etc to get idea's on game plans,

maybe they should stay home and head down to the Holden centre.

Would be a good start for the Kangas

I will have a look.

I only got interested when big Ange got his gig.

The doco on road to europa league is great about their win.(on youtube)

Also my son is in now in a sports school playing under 16's

His team just won silver medal at the 26th ubon ratchatani games.

And his school won gold in the under 18's.

Got to have something else to hang the hat on when you support the Kangas.

Well Peeps

That's it for another round.

FJ picked the card this round so he gets the Twirl bars.

Nice work mate.

Still no change at the top, with Scea in front by the barest of margins,

Until next time.

Guru Will......has done it again.....Goodwin sacked....last night....what else do you see in your weeties this morning billy?

Interm CO, interm president and now intern coach, well I feel sorry for Simon but it wasn't looking good hey?

About the only good thing thats come out of this is they moved like a stealth bomber, silently in the night with a thousand knifes thrown into Simons back, no real warning, with clear vindication, throat cut quickly and silently as in a commando raid....best of luck Simon...I recon North may sit up and take note if they decide Alistair isnt up for it anymore...

So it's a new broom at the G, now the tube will be a buzz with names thrown around as coach in waiting.....OMG hope it not who I think it could be....

I see the mighty Nathan "figjam" Buckley saying that he would honor you with his brilliance. The club must be scrambling for the phone now.

I reckon Buckley is letting people know he's interested in a return.

If he coaches again, my bet is Carlton or Tasmania.

Sorry Uncle Alex.

‘I will take the call’: Nathan Buckley says ‘compelling’ Demons could lure him back to coaching

Collingwood great Nathan Buckley says he would take a call from Melbourne president Brad Green, declaring the Demons are a compelling reason to consider a coaching return.

Buckley, the former Magpies coach (2012-21) who guided the club into the 2018 grand final, is keen to return to the senior ranks, having left the Magpies through the 2021 season.

While also on the radar of the fledging Tasmania Devils, who are slated to join the league in 2028, Buckley confirmed on Wednesday he would be interested in discussing Melbourne’s plans with club brass.

“I have spoken about my life and how I enjoy the balance I have at the moment. It would need to be something quite compelling to leave this. The Devils’ timeline was good because it was out there, it was on the horizon, this one is a little bit sharper, isn’t it?” Buckley told SEN on Wednesday.

“I would take the call and I would have the chat, but there still would have to be a lot that would have to fall into place for me to leave this position of comfort that I have discovered.”

He later added: “I think the Melbourne prospect is quite compelling. There is, obviously, a lot that needs to settle and evolve there, but big club, storied history, the experience in the playing group is unquestioned, and I like their young group of players as well. In that sense, there is a compelling case there in terms of opportunity, but there is plenty of water to go under the bridge.”

But Essendon great and former coach James Hird has ruled himself out.

“No, I think I have said previously, I am flattered someone would think about it, but no, that’s not something I would [consider],” Hird told Footy Classified on Tuesday night.

Sorry Uncle Alex.

I dont mind the guy, but no thanks, in fact about the only "experienced" coach that might have sat ok with me is James Hird, but to long out of it now is my thinking, what ever you do dont bring up Simmo.....Hinkley, please, ok guy, had a list that should have got to one GF, Longmire, ummm....really it's a hard caper but again should have done better, no mate throw it to the wind and bring in a talented assistant, fresh ideas, a name popped up yesterday, Cam Bruce, ex player who played the last two ys of his career at the Hawks when they tapped him on the shoulder and said Father Time has caught up with you son, assistant at the Lions at the moment, a versatile defender and midfielder and tagger and vice captain, same draft year as current interim president Brad the Man Green, was assistant coach at the Hawks during there flag runs, then the Blues for 4 ys 2021 joined the Lions as midfield coach....would be a romantic fan reunion, then Corey Enfield, apparently a highly regarded assistant...name also came up...

Me? got no idea, maybe you would want an AFL experienced coach if the club was broken and recovering al la Paul Roos to get some steel back into the backbone, actually I see Buckley as a more of a Goodwin personality, maybe Goodwin was too professional for us...Well I do have an idea, throw a first round pick at the Tigers and go after Adem Yze, will never forget his runs along the members flank and wings during his 200 plus game career...and he can coach..

Well Trend Setters

That's it for round 22.

A heap picked 7 so there will be no chocolates given out today.

Nothing has changed in the top 3.

Going to be a close finish.

Until next time.

Gents

That's it for the penultimate round of the year.

As you can see, the top 3 all got 7 but the Whitakker's Peanuts Slab go to Radar for a sensational 8.

Seems to be a race in two unless Rip can pull off a few upsets.

Until next time.

You never know Rip.

Funny things can happen in the last round.

I reckon these 3 games could go either way: Port at home against the GC in the last game for Hinkley,

Freo vs Bulldogs and Brisbane against the Hawks.

Then again, I'm 4th, what would I know😁
