few hours activities with kids?

Featured Replies

I'll be in Bangkok next week 18 for a appointment at the embassy. After that, from around 11.00 onwards, I will be free till plane departure 15.30 hours. Any suggestions on things to do for a few hours with Thai wife and 2 kids aged 12 and 5? I was thinking of Grand Palace and a boat ride, but anything better would be welcome ????

If you plan departure is 15h30 you need to be there at least 14h30 for the  boarding right?!

So you have only 3h30 to do something if you count in the time you will need to reach the airport and the grand palace etc your time will be up...

Unless you take the bts but still that is simply too short

Do some thinking before posting:

WHERE is that emb?

What airport?

Assuming you have to be there 1 hr before and always calculate traffic jams here in BKK, you have just barely 2 hrs-without any travel time in between.

Does the wife have not any idea? Thai ladies always want to go shopping and BKK excels in a giant nr of giant shopping centres. All have some kids-play-area.

Yes, do some thinking before posting. And that's all I will say, thanks to the others for some suggestions.

MBK loads of shops etc and top floor for bowling, Cinema and more play stuff.

Got food, ice cream, whatever you need and escape the heat.

Don Mueang?

Royal Thai Air Force Museum on NE perimeter.

It's free.

Kids can climb in most of the helicopters and some of the planes.

10-15 mins from there to terminal by taxi.

For the kids https://bangkok.kidzania.com/en-th   Kidzania, at Paragon.

If the Wife and kids are not needed at the Embassy (the 12year old could go in by their-self), they could go there first, at 10:00hrs, they would get 3hrs (which I'm sure they will say is not long enough). Otherwise probably not enough time.

Then straight on the toll road/expressway to DMK, at Phloen chit, at 13:15ish?
