I am sorry if I offended you,the observation was directed at both sides, and I should had added that I am often guilty of, but cognizant and try to refrain. certainly not holier than thou.

I was not stating the Obvious , I was supporting Skeptic's post which you seemed to have a problem with, I noticed that you did not dispute any of the points I made,

Though I don't believe in the existence of god,(biblical god) nothing in what I said contradicted his existence ,  it was simply a critique and observation ,of the existence of religious indoctrination.

I am sorry that you feel we are being stalked, IMO we respect you enough to engage you in conversation. Isn't that what we are here for? Or is it simply a soapbox from where we make speeches?

I have no problem discussing the ideas with respect.

Things can change if you try to tale the p**s, and i can remember you tried that at least once.

That said, i think it's possible to have a conversation with you, and probably we agree on most things.

In this long thread, i made my point many times about what i think of indoctrination and religious fanatics, i have 2 children, now more than 30, and i can't remember if i ever talked to them about God.

For me it's a personal and free choice what you believe and what you don't.

No, that was advice.

Only one way to test your opinions, read mot what opponents have to say, and not only what you line to hear or see!

Trust me, I have read my share of people I strongly dissagree with, also religious scripts, as well gurus who believe they know the way to Nirwana.

By time it form us and maybe change us, not to forget learn something, as well see things from an different view.

Have a good evening sir

Like that.

Being tolerant, not arrogant is also something I appreciate.

"Arrogant" for me is :

"I know better"

or/and :

"You don't understand it, I do"

Yes, and i am sorry if i gave you the wrong impression.

Sometimes, when having a discussion, things can get heated, but i can assure that respect is at the top of my values.

I'm still struggling to work out who the Christians actually worship...

I thought it was "God", but on this thread I've learnt that the Catholic worships Mother Mary & the Christians worship her son, who was also the re-embodiment of God... Who came down to earth to remind people about his father's kingdom, which was his Kingdom...

Do you guys ever stop, take a & look at what you're actually saying???

No Idea who said https://quoteinvestigator.com/2018/03/20/devil/ but He was second (maybe 3rd Place).... The Great Trick every played was (at least a couple of times) before Lucifer ever got onto the Scene (Dante?)

While I agree with you, it's not simply black and white.

Let's say you meet someone. This guy is a professional boxer, but you don't know that. For some reason you start to talk about boxing and you're opinion is that it's a very violent sport and should therefore be forbidden. You've never practiced this sport, but that's your opinion.

The other guy will tell you a lot of good reasons why it shouldn't be banned. He has been doing it for a long time and the sport has actually saved him from a life on the streets and at the same time made him quite wealthy.
How will you react to his opinion? Are the 2 opinions equal?
They could be seen as equal if the other guy was just an accountant, but being a professional boxer changes things, don't you think?
Of course it wouldn't be right for the other guy to say "Shut up, you know <deleted> about boxing" even though it would be pretty close to the truth.
You see where I'm going with this? There will always be some people who know more than us on a particular subject. Doesn't mean it belittles us, on the contrary...we would be well advised if we would listen carefully, because it's a chance to grow.

308 pages ????

Should go to 1000, nothing funny about that. nice people having thoughtful conversations. if you could stop laughing long enough you are welcome to join in.

I only surf the "view new content" part of this forum. There are a few Avatars that I recognise and when I see them regardless of what, I click 0n them to see what they had to say, I am rarely disappointed.

a few of these avatars are in this thread.

When this thread reaches 1000 pages we will have a party. you are welcome to join.

I would listen to him and take his advices as  boxing is something concrete.

I will listen to somebody who pretend he knows better about faith, God...

Not necessarily believe him, or following his advices, as it is something abstract and he may consider himself as a specialist, pretending knowing better than I do, but that's is only his opinion.

There is some foundational stuff that is common to most Christians, but there are some major disagreements as well. I am sure that you could find some basic explanations on Google.

Protestants don't consider Mary other than another Biblical character. Catholics have deified her based on some extra-Biblical ideas.

But I think the Catholics and the Protestants and the Orthodox agree on God being three aspects, the flesh, the spirit, and the Identity of God. The same as you are body, mind, and spirit.

What i find slightly irritating is that some of us are trying to have a honest debate, like a game of chess, then a brat comes, overturn the table and yell: "victory !"

.. If you complain, they call you names..????

Was that aimed at me??? [Noticed you didn't have the balls to quote anybody]

I'm asking sensible questions & giving my viewpoint, but because they don't fit in with yours, you disparage, without having the b0llax to come out and say it...

Oh & come on, being told to Google "God"!!! wasn't a 4ckin ridiculous suggestion???

I gave you good answers and you gave me Monty Python.

And Google has lots of info on the basic tenants of all religions. How is that ridiculous?

Ahh, i'm not having the balls, nice of you.

Your sensible questions are a joke, but what you fail to understand, is that you are kidding yourself.

Have a nice life (There's fck all waiting for you on the otherside)

<deleted> I should have asked Bing...

He took the time to explain something that you could have easily looked up using Google or Bing. The very  least you could do is not to make fun of it.

Explained what... The Mumbo Jumbo from his particular "Church" (and how many are there).

I won't post another clip from Life of Brian as clearly it causes offence on this thread but the Christian religions can be summed up as "Follow the Gourd, NO follow the shoe"

I asked a simple question about why Christians believe in Jesus & not God & got some story about how Jesus was really God reborn, in that case why was was it his Father's Kingdom,.. Oh wait, because he rebirthed himself to a virgin mother)...

Making it up as they go along...

Given up even trying to debate with people who cannot hold a decent argument but revert to calling names...

Possibly those people may change their minds when they are close to death, until then they will keep denying anything which is beyond the theories of official science.

Why is this so? The younger dudes dont believe in religion, but when they age and are near the end of their journey they embrace some belief. Also, people who are faced with many serious issues do the same.

Could this be a reason that they are stretching out in desperation for the last straw?

If there is a credible God, this world should be perfect and we all should be happy, isn't it?

When surgeons, can not help you anymore .

God is the last straw , without hope and prayer , it is a lonely death . Rip.

"Pretending"... hmmm

You think someone who spends his life meditating, specializing in the art of introspection, dedicating all his energies to be one with God, upholding the highest goals of Truth and Wisdom.......will then pretend to be something he's not? Will be a slave of his ego and try to deceive you?

Doesn't make any sense, does it?

God is only abstract when you try understand him intellectually. Thankfully there are ways to break the illusion and introduce you to the 'God-experience'. And they are free, available to all.
