Hey look, it's new to me having any sort of relationship with a woman from South East Asia and this one did and said things I wasn't expecting from a BG.

I'm not ugly and I'm not even close drawing my pension (like some commenters here) so it was a genuine question to gather opinions and experiences from those that may be better positioned than myself. 

As it stands, I started work this week so haven't been able to talk to her anywhere near as much (during my time off it was a good distraction during the days as everyone else I know was in work) but she still messages me "good morning" and "good night". I'm not entirely sure of her goal anymore as I've said I won't give her money unless in her company (especially as she's still working) and she seems less intent on actually articulating a response to things I say via text and rather responds with emojis. Anyway since starting work I have been headhunted for 2 positions and passed the contact details of a few other companies/people to approach about work (typical!) so my focus is on my career as of now and maybe getting back to Thailand for new year.... And then long term being like the rest of you and maybe retiring out there ????

Not all of us are retired. Some of us don't get anywhere near enough time to sit in bars, drinking beer and getting told how handsome we are. Suffice to say, retirement sounds pretty good.

Marriage is just luck of the draw anyway. There are no "sure things". Marriage to "non BGs" are as likely to fail as those to BGs.

I think if you can meet a BG who has only been working for a short period of time, your chances may be better.

Otherwise, most seem to develop similar personalities (not to my liking) after working for long periods of time in a bar.

My experience also is that BG's seem to have simpler needs.

 

The professional girls sound great on paper, but most are striving for hiso lifestyles.

I have never met one who did not have quite a bit of debt.

On Facebook constantly trying to show up their friends.

 

Anyway, like you said 50% or more failures is pretty accurate.

I have tried to assimilate in the past. I have done things most farang haven't and even the average Thai hasn't. I have achieved plenty.

 

Despite all of this......I have stopped looking for respect from these people completely. I am a farang and proud of it. I don't want to be Thai. I don't care if they respect me or not. I certainly wouldn't do things to try to earn their respect, like pick a certain partner!

Me too. Meeting someone half my age inevitably led to my son being born, even though I was 55 at the time. Getting married makes things much easier.

Be cautious, as always, but also be aware....  The BG knows if she keeps in contact with 10 guys, maybe one or two will show back up. If she really wants out of the biz she probably has to go thru 50 or more.  It's all a numbers game, for both sides.

I personally know of two confirmed.  One has the key to my home in snother country.  But the lifestyle can mess up their heads.  It is not an easy life and they do learn bad habits.  It is possible and I know some but be very careful.

I beg to differ. These are my favourite specimens. And I can say that I have never caught an STD from any of these fine women in any dark, dingy alley anywhere in SE Asia. Trust me I have tried.

Yes that well could be due to the very high incidence of total removal of pubic hair by Thai ladies, hence denying the pubic crab its comfy home,  as opposed to the West where bush mountains are often promoted.
