Russian woman finds her "very drunk husband" washed up on the beach in Samui

A Russian tourist told police that she had been drinking heavily with her husband at a hotel on Lamai beach last night.

She decided to go to bed and leave him to it.

But he didn't return to their room.

Then next thing she knew a member of staff had alerted her that a corpse had been found 100 meters further down the beach in the early hours of the morning.

She went and uncovered the cloth and found that it was her husband.

He was named as Denis Masanov, aged 50. He was found naked with blood coming from his nose and mouth.

Koh Samui district chief Kittiphop Rotdon and the Bo Phut police chief were on the beach before most tourists had risen on Wednesday morning.

The victim's wife said that her husband was a heavy drinker suffering from many diseases. She thinks he must have gone for a swim after she left him.

The body was sent for an autopsy.

R.I.P.

Nice to see they had the decency to cover the body...

And what pleasure does one really get from drinking to such excess?

Guess the pleasure may come from any possible  insurance payout if cause of death is deemed accidental.

The question maybe was the swim voluntary????RIP

Blood coming from his nose and mouth ... found dead on the beach ... had been drinking heavily?

Is it common for drowning victims to be bleeding from the nose and mouth?

Can do...

Googled the question, "does drowning cause bleeding"

Quote

Asphyxia by Drowning Induces Massive Bleeding Due To Hyperfibrinolytic Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation.

Also found references to bleeding in none traumatic deaths.

but let's wait for an autopsy carried out by experts.

Bleeding esophageal varices and bleeding stomach ulcers are common among heavy drinkers, and could explain bleeding from nose and mouth causing death. In this case however, crime/accident/suicide can't be ruled out.

She knew the husband had many diseases, but she gladly drank heavily with him. I could for a moment join the retired investigators team on TVF, and suggest this was a clever murder.

alcohol and water should never be mixed

It's already premixed with 60-95% water when you buy it, further mixing is not needed.
