Does Patpong Nightlife Still Exist?
Serious question about Patpong. I haven’t been down there at night in at least 10 or 15 years. When I’ve passed through during the day, it’s hard to tell if anything is actually happening there after dark. I assume most of the go-gos are gone, and the night market probably doesn’t get much of a Chinese crowd, so it’s likely pretty dead. Just wondering what actually goes on there these days. Any decent bars with live music or good restaurants to draw people in, or is it just a hollow shell with nothing happening? I’m really surprised the whole plot hasn’t been sold off for some mega mall project with hotel and condos and all redeveloped by now. Prime land isn't it? -

Crime Sattahip Police Conduct Realistic Bank Robbery Drill
Picture courtesy of Sattahip News. Sattahip Police Station conducted a full-scale simulation of a bank robbery at the Government Housing Bank (GH Bank) in Sattahip Market, Chonburi Province. The exercise, led by Pol. Col. Khomsan Kamtunkaew, Superintendent of Sattahip Police Station, was part of a nationwide initiative to improve emergency response readiness and ensure public safety. Deputy Superintendent for Operations, Pol. Lt. Col. Chanatat Nawakunrangsri, headed the tactical team through a detailed drill simulating a robbery in progress. The scenario involved receiving a report of the robbery, activating emergency alarms, coordinating road checkpoints, monitoring CCTV footage and ultimately apprehending the suspect. The training was carried out with a high degree of realism and intensity. Officers from multiple units collaborated seamlessly to rehearse the procedures required during such critical incidents. The initiative follows directives from the Royal Thai Police and Region 2 Provincial Police, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and public trust. Sattahip Police conduct regular drills of this nature to ensure that officers remain prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies. By practising these scenarios, the force aims to strengthen its capability to protect lives and property in the local community. The public can be reassured by the professionalism demonstrated during the exercise, which underscored the commitment of law enforcement to maintaining safety and order in the region. sitting in a bar in pattaya is much better than sitting in a retirement home in your home country.
