DVD anyone?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I went into Paragon to replace my recently broken DVD player but they no longer sell them as 'most people use streaming services nowadays'.
Do other forum readers still use DVDs or am I an antique? It would be a shame to throw them out.
If anyone can recommend a model to use with a few month's old Samsung UHD-TV, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks everyone.

I still have a very good Blue Ray DVD player connected to my TV.  Bought it from Amazon some time back,  but they still have a good range available I believe.  I have hundreds of DVDs that I have no intention of getting rid of. Many of those movies are not available for streaming.

I never got into collecting  DVD's, but I appreciate how devices can become outdated and difficult to get  repaired.

Twenty years ago I had a hard time to find a VCR player for my mother's collection of VHS tapes of her television shows.

It's interesting how for centuries nothing really changed much  but now I've lived through lots of changes from 33/45's records, 8 track, reel to reel,  cassettes, CD's, VHS tapes, Mini DVD's and so on.

Good luck with your repair or purchase.

Next time, try a proper shop.

That said, most people these days would probably buy a BluRay player as these can also play DVDs.
