Good morning Thai GF has been to uk 3 times now all successful applications, we have had a 4th issued and just received it, we stated on application her intended arrival in the uk was 31/07/19 but they have issued the visa with a start date of 26/06/19, although it will be valid we wanted it to start on 31/07/19, all previous visas issued have been started on intended travel date, have checked application which clearly states correct date, unsure why they would issue it with a start date of over 1 month before travel, I am wondering if this can be changed and how I or herself go about getting it rectified to the correct date and if this has to be done in Thailand or can it be done in uk after arrival

Seen the following link but unsure if it applies to her

Thanks in advance any advise welcome, just need to get it sorted and less than a month before she travels

She'll need to go to Trendy in Bangkok, with all the evidence, and advise them that the date is wrong, she cannot alter the start date in the UK.
I suspect they've dated the visa to start when the decision was made as opposed to the intended date of travel.

Visa vingettes are printed in Bangkok so it shouldn't be a problem, the only only caveat is that visas always used be dated on the date the decision was made, then they changed to the intended date of travel, maybe the UKVI have reverted to the previous system, but I suspect it's a mistake.

Thank you very much I suspected that may be the case, looks like it's a trip to bkk for her then, thank you very much for the response greatly appreciated

Yes looks like they have dated it on the decision made as it's a few days prior to her receiving it back

Does this actually matter? Unless she intends staying for an extended period. her visa will still be valid for the travel period.

Or maybe she had planned a second visit within the expected period of validity, in which case, yes, it would most certainly matter.

Yes understand its valid but I did state in my sponsor letter and application the date that I wanted her here over Christmas and new year with my family and the start date means and date of 26th December which also brings expensive flights and accomadation, just she lives in korat so a trip to bkk is a bit of hassle, just wish there was someone we could speak to or email first rather than sending her to trendy without knowing if it can be sorted, plus not sure how she goes about it either, or should I contact immigration in Sheffield about it first will try emailing them on Monday, if I have to pay premium number or email for help then so be it just I think it's a fault their side, to my knowledge they have outsourced the processing to India which is where the mistake may have been made as I said all her previous ones had a start date on the day of travel

Just to clarify, they haven't out sourced the processing to India, the decision is still made by directly employed UKVI, but they centralised the operation to Delhi.

You could try to contact the UKVI, they do have a helpline based in the UK that can be contacted by phone or email, though they do charge, I can't guarantee that they'd be able to help though.

The same happened to us but it was when you applied at the Embassy, we went and told them and they said nothing we can do you'll have to make a new application.
