Police say posh private plane is not just for Prawit

Police say posh private plane is not just for Prawit

Critics are alleging that a new 1.1 billion baht 10 seat luxury private jet is being used solely to transport the current deputy PM Prawit Wongsuwan around the country.

Yesterday’s reports in Thai media have forced the Royal Thai Police to deny the plane would only serve the needs of the ageing Deputy PM. Accusations first came from the Watchdog Act Facebook Page which actively follows transgressions of Thai politicians.

The Dassault Falcon 2000 is a French business jet and a member of Dassault Aviation’s Falcon business jet line, and is a twin-engine, slightly smaller development of the Falcon 900 trijet, with transcontinental range.

Police spokesman Pol Lt Gen Piya says police had to purchase a small plane that was able to land on short runways to carry out urgent police work.

“This plane is not only for the deputy prime minister and defence minister.”

“The plane will be used for weekly missions, including drug suppression and other criminal crackdowns, though it will also sometimes serve commanders flying to visit police agencies countrywide.”

The spokesperson say that the picture had been Photoshopped.

“The plane is nothing special and only equipped with necessary facilities.”

Reportedly Gen Prawit, who also chairs the Police Commission and is currently the Thai defence minister, flew in the plane on June 27 with his entourage to attend a ceremony to hand back land title deeds to villagers in Lob Buri.

  • So why did you pay over market value?  Is flying the distance of a 2.15 hour car journey to hand back land title deeds deemed urgent?

But air transport for personal use,  wholly paid for by the Thai taxpayer,  is a prime requisite for the utterly corrupt, is it not ?

What or who paid for this...hmmmm  ✉️

It is just a coincidence that the only passenger so far has been Prawit. Please don't pick on them.

He will let other know how to book it from his hospital bed.

He needs the space for the mobile toilet facilities in case of a re-occurring 'medical emergency'.

As he gets older the likelihood of such emergencies is bound to increase.

What is the matter with public transportation flights and driving a car? Insane and absurd amount of spending from taxes. Elite?

:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

It only cost 2 billion don't worry. Why are the police buying him a private jet?Is that the price for protection in the Ja New affair?

He,s actually sold some of his (no friends and borrowed) watches to help pay for it....:whistling:

The Interior ministry is flushed with tax payer money in the budget; second only to education. Another dodgy procurement approval by Anupong among his other dodgy purchases like the GT200 and the airbus when he was army chief. I am sure he want the best for his Eastern Tiger's buddy.

At first i thougt like this as well, but on a second thought:

Let's say they are travelling with 10 officials, this would mean at least 5 cars for the people plus another 5 cars from police, ambulance, or similar.

Then this also involves the management of hundreds of police who block the roads when the convoy is passing through.

So putting them on a plane is for sure way easier to manage, and might even turn out cheaper than going with cars.

Or, how about they send the land deeds via a courier. Even cheaper.

Plane or convoy - none of it's fiscally responsible. And that's certainly not their concern.

With 1.1 B, you can have the car entourage ensemble for the whole of his short life time and still have cash to spare.

And the stewardess will just change her clothes and pick some weapons and she's a three in one. A stewardess, a soldier and a Mama San.

Sometimes, never, often, usually verb of frequency abuse by the military government. Of course, is the plane for Khun Nalighaar/

The Thai people paid for it, who else?

Certainly one of the reasons I have been seeing so many more checkpoints lately.  Also all the cash from police fines for the TM30s.  I estimate changwattana alone is making at lest 100K a day from that scam.

"The plane is nothing special and only equipped with necessary facilities.”

Nothing special?  Well I wouldn't mind one.

Perhaps they'll also be using it to transport TM30 violators from around the country to Police Headquarters in BKK for their mandatory "I've been arrested for failing to file my TM30 report" news conferences...
