What happened to the "Rich Indians" touted in last weeks article?

The rich ones are busy arranging a gangbag on the beach road for 100 baht a pop ????

Same in Chiang Mai. And they never sleep in cheap hostels or dorms. Always in the better hostels and hotels. They eat at local restaurants and spend a lot of money. And you never see them drunk.

At least some one says it as it is and don't blame the Chinese for every thing bad

1.  Listening to them talk.  2.  If the Hopf was filled with people speaking with British accents one year and the next year filled with Asian people not speaking English one can assume there has been a change in clientele.  The Hopf is not a very wide place and as you walk back to the toilet it is easy to hear the people talking.

The Hopf seats a couple of hundred people and is a good indicator of what ethnic groups are in town.

Just wondering, did you ask Kim how he figured the sex tourists were in a small minority now?

Got ya, so on your monthly 1 day  visit to Pattaya instead of shopping, you walk around listening to people talk and then arrive at conclusion of "majority" . No further questions

We can expect a statement from the democratically elected Thai Goverment, soon.

Reduction on bar fines , and longer short times, 5 hours min,  not 5 minutes.

Every little bit helps, when your down ...555

I just feel sorry for locals who try to make a living (not talking about bar girls or hookers )

My lady friend runs a hairdressing salon her daughter and son in law both work at the Hilton

hotel so I am worried about them losing their job because of lack of tourists

I never blamed Chinese. At every nationality you have idiots. But because 8 million Chinese come to Thailand and 5% are idiots, the chance to see one of the 400,000 is much bigger than to see an idiot Briton, German, Aussie or whatever because they are less.

I never blamed you at all but most of TVF posters hate or blame Chinese for every thing

of course there is more Chinese tourists in Thailand because China is pretty close

to Thailand so the take the cheapest option when they travel like many Brits or Germans

go to Spain or Greece

It's pretty much the same as some expert telling us that Chinese tour groups haven't devolved into FIT's as the Pattaya tourist chief, and the travel agent guy who posts on here, plus myself who travels with them stated.

That particular expert who sneered at the very idea, despite eyesight evidence on multiple occasions, not four weeks ago seems to have forgotten that fact and continues to sneer at others.

TIT.

Oh really,? do tell who the agent is and of course you , the pillar of information, because after all you traveled to China and back

ThreeEyeRaven you have nailed it.it is not the strong baht - it is the vicious attacks by gangs of thais on individuals that is a huge factor- cheap behaviour at the bars also keeps families away.if pattaya were so good destination hordes of malaysians and singaporeans would rush to that place.

Families visiting the biggest brothel in the World , why?.

It saddens me to see parents , taking their young children to walking street ...

Exchange rate effects and some extreme price increases have made Thailand an expensive holiday destination.

Lady drinks, barfines, drink prices, cigarettes and food prices have risen continuously in the past.

Plus visa stress, curfew at 2am, restricted alcohol sales, shisha ban, vaping ban, TM30 + 90 days reporting stress, traffic situation, garbage, dirty sea, double pricing, more violence and robbery, overbuilding, military government, etc. have killed the fun.

It is no wonder that fewer western tourists come.

Yeah, I believe Secrets in Phnom Penh just celebrated their first anniversary. Ironically about the same time Secrets/Scooters in soi 14 closed. Say what you like about Ben, he knows his business.

Yep , been to Amsterdam , and worked in in Holland .

Seen many couples , going to the live sex shows,  enjoy .

I have never seen any children, in the red light districts , in Amsterdam.

Why would parents want to take their children , to these sex zones.

Weirdos ... Maybe they prefer family friendly Pattaya,,  thx Tat .  so sad ..

He said that it was obvious to anyone - beer bars, nightclubs, pubs and other bars were all but empty.

Europeans are no longer coming due to the strength of the baht and other factors like competition elsewhere.

NO CLUE HERE as to where exactly to find the "competition elsewhere".

How much is a pack of cigarettes Thailand vs Europe?

Depends on the brand and where you life in Europe. The UK has the highest cigarette prices in Europe at all. If you buy a bar of cigarettes, for example, in Poland, this is cheaper than in Thailand. The percentage price increase in Thailand has been huge here in the last 2 years.

Prices of packs of cigarettes vary depending on which country you buy them

Retail price of a premium pack of 20 cigarettes in selected European countries in 2017 (in GBP)

Also vaping is legal in the EU, so that's already cheaper than Thai cigs and more healthy anyway. NHS even opened vape shops in hospitals in the UK, germany is also pushing it hard - very progressive countries (most of the time).
