'Add Carabao' joins fight against toxic pesticides

Thailand’s top folk rock singer and composer Yuenyong Opakul, known as ‘Add Carabao’, has joined the chorus of protest by civic groups and organic farmers against the government’s refusal to ban the use of three toxic pesticides, namely paraquat, glyphosate and chlorpyrifos.

‘Add Carabao’ and his famous Carabao rock band on Monday released a music video, entitled “What would you do, Phi Too (Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s nickname)?” via Carabao’s YouTube channel.  The song has already scored 580,000 hits.

Directly addressed to the Prime Minister, whom ‘Add’ likened to his elder brother, the singer highlighted the government’s refusal to ban the three toxic chemicals and urged the Prime Minister to act to end the poisoning of the land in this country immediately.

Well said, stop poisoning the population.

Can anyone provide a link to the video? I can't work out which one it is.

"How are you?" Which originated from the government sector that refused to abolish the use of harmful toxins by Add Carabao or Yuanyong Opakun, music artist for life Direct questions To the leader of the country that is like his brother to turn to solve this problem urgently To end the pouring of toxins on the land of Thailand Stop the danger of toxic contamination in food that Thai people eat.

Great to see someone who is respected by many take up the battle, well done.

Too late, the fight has already been fought and lost. The pockets of the those doctors who declared the toxic pesticides and herbicides as safe have had their "generous expenses" paid by the chemical companies.

Likewise the junta military politicians who readily and greedily accepted those doctor's lies and confirmed the official legality of these poisons were surely similarly rewarded for their trouble.

glyphosate...... Monsanto have lost a $25 million lawsuit against them in the states.
is a class action in Thailand against Monsanto possible ?

It's a good thing juries don't determine scientific facts.

Also it seems the personality in the OP has no issues with all the toxic pesticides used in organic farming?

Too much "self interest" involved to get those banned !

Not a solution but an interim approach: one might try activated charcoal tablets or capsules to help remove the pesticides and other toxins from one's body.  They are available in most pharmacies and even 7-11s.

As always, do your own research and don't do anything you do not adequately understand.

(I wanted to post this in the original news story about the recent test results form Britain concerning high levels of pesticides in Thai fruit and vegetables but could not find where to post it.  Feel free to copy and paste it if you know where.)

Carabao is a yellow shirt, nationalist, ultra royalist, he voted junta in. They performed at bangkok shutdown.

Calling an oppressor his brother speaks volume.

Pryuth like an elder brother, Carabao is 64 how old is the dear leader? You wont find him echoing the rap against dictatorship theme in any of his material. Some might call his sugary drinks not exactly good for the health either.

We can hope.

Any chance of a movement against toxic music??

Just askin'

Edit.

Should that be toxinous music

( natural ) or toxic

( chemical )

I'm not too sure.

What about toxic words, toxic being the latest example, everything seems to be toxic now
