Phuket Pad Thai hygiene goes on show

PHUKET: Phuket’s top officials, along with Deputy Public Health Minister Satit Pitutacha, held a public-awareness event at Central Festival Phuket yesterday (July 21) to highlight food hygiene standards in Phuket, with a special focus on Pad Thai.

 

The event follows Australian couple Stacey Barnes, 32, and Ryan Prigg, 39, claiming that a meal of Pad Thai they ate at a Phuket food court during a family holiday in 2017 ruined their lives and their business for more than a year. (See story here.)

 

Also present at the event yesterday were Phuket Governor Phakaphong Tavipatana, Phuket City Mayor Somjai Suwansupana and Central Phuket's Senior Vice President Wilaiporn Pitimanaaree.

I'm pretty sure that was Confucius. The same guy who said, "Man who eat meat and peas on same plate not hygienic."

They not real Aussies, they from West Australia.???? Thai good people would never intentionally poison someone. ????

considering seeing restaurant-pub employees leave the toilet without washing their hands is not uncommon and thailand having a tropical climate this display of "hygiene theatre" is just silly.

My missus eats meat & two veg every day... she say delicious !

Absolutely ridiculous! It's like floating a new boat after the Phoenix disaster and stating that all Phuket vessels are safe!

Nice to see that the two in aprons are dressed in conspiciously freshly pressed clothes to make things worthy for their cause of cleanliness.
