Local fishermen found a rotten bottlenose dolphin carcass on a beach in Chanthaburi’s Tha Mai district on Monday morning.

The carcass, which is about two metres long, was found on Chao Lao Beach in Moo 5 village in Tambon Klong Khud.

Officials said the dolphin appeared to be around five to six years old and might have died about three weeks ago.

Officials from the Khun Kraben Bay Development Centre took a sample of the dolphin’s tissues for lab tests to try to determine the cause of its death. The carcass was subsequently buried near the beach.

There seems to be an awful lot of large sea creatures being found dead on the shores of Thailand just recently, I wonder why that is?
