Highway police intercepted a pick-up truck and arrested nine allegedly smuggled Cambodian migrants and a Thai driver on a highway in Sa Kaew on Thursday night, police said.

Pol Captain Sanong Cherdchai, deputy inspector of the highway police station in Muang district, said his unit spotted a suspicious pickup while patrolling highway No 359 in Tambon Sa Kwan following tip-offs about undocumented migrant being smuggling.

They stopped the vehicle and found it held six Cambodian men and three women. The nine failed to produce travel documents, and so were arrested.

The driver, Likhit Sinthorn, was also arrested on the charge of smuggling undocumented migrants into the Kingdom.

All were taken to the Muang Sa Kaew police station for legal action.

That's two stories within a matter of minutes about human trafficking in Thailand. Tip of the ice berg. It's always the migrants that get busted. When are we going to hear about the Thai's being arrested for people smuggling?

Last time that happened, the policeman investigating fled to seek asylum in Australia:

Guess they would have to bust themselves for that to happen????

Migrants or tourists?
At least 9 arrivals less on the TAT's listings.
