Up to 72.8 per cent of people say they have not benefited in any way from the first day of the parliamentary debate on the new government's policy statement, according to the latest survey by Super Poll Research Institute.

The institute's director, assistant professor Nopadol Kannikar, said the poll surveyed 1,563 people nationwide on Friday (July 26). The survey included quantitative and qualitative research.

The institute said 78.6 per cent of those surveyed said they do not believe the ruling coalition will do anything to implement its policies, while 21.4 per cent had confidence that the government will do everything to implement its policies announced in Parliament.

When respondents were asked to score out of 10 the performance of Parliament members in the debate on Thursday (July 25), opposition parties scored 6.46, the Parliament president got 5.84 and the government 5.11.

Meanwhile, NIDA Poll by the National Institute of Development Administration announced the results of its latest survey about “Politicians expressing their opinions and responding via social media”. On the issue of using social media for political retaliation, more than 37 per cent was opposed to this practice, 19.16 per cent said this was the only the way to try to overcome politics while 17.36 per cent backed the use of social media for political purposes.

When asked about the ways in which politicians should respond, 66.07 per cent of respondents said they should give their opinions in Parliament while 22.67 per cent said they should respond through mainstream media such as TV, radio, and newspaper.

The poll from July 23 to July 25, surveyed 1,279 people aged above 15.

How can we make sense of anything anymore without a pie chart....

That will be no good for the vegans amongst us.

I can think of lots of pies for vegans too; apple pie, cherry pie, hairy pie etc.

I suppose we could have humble pie too, as long as there's no animal products in the pastry of course.

100% of those interviewed felt Thai politicians are selfish, greedy, lying, corrupt, uncaring, unintelligent, inefficient scumbags.

Ha ha! I'd love to see those questions asked directly in a survey, with a yes or no answer.

Why do I think if that was published, the group who undertook the survey would mysteriously be charged with lèse-majesté?

That is a reasonable expectation, after all they are Prayut's policies rather than the government's.

Does anyone know one single promise Prayut has kept out of the hundreds, if not thousands, he has made  during the 4+ long years of self appointed term of office as the junta Prime Minister? The people are quite used to him not keeping his promises.

Pavements, lotteries, Chiang Mai smoke and smog, Bangkok traffic.......the list is endless. Here he is showing off his  Zero Tolerance Corruption shirt. I feel nauseous just looking at it!

If promises where the same as plans and strategies I would say the figure would be in the hundreds maybe even thousands even more perhaps, but sadly they are not the same so the simple answer would I can't remember any.

I think they would have their stomaches filled with cement and left laying on the dry Mekong river bed waiting for the water to rise.

Try a vegetable quiche ..

I'm afraid I used the royal wee. So not for me, but there will be others.

As we used to say, "Give us a quiche Lorraine."

Surprising result from a polling organisation known for supporting the Junta. Preparing minds for a return to a mode of government that was supposed to make implementation easier?

Yes: 'You will be taken away and put in prison'. He has always been pretty sharp on that count.
