I am flying from Phuket to Phnom Penh this upcoming Friday, August 16 (very early - flight leaves at 0615).  I was wondering if anybody can relay any recent experiences with how long the immigration line might be?

 

I'm asking because it seems the waits coming into the country have been horrendous lately, and also because Phuket is not one of the their main airports.

Phuket is the third busiest airport in Thailand after the 2 in Bangkok.

I would suggest you get to the airport at the recommended time prior to departure.

GF did the air asia flight trip last month, she arrived at 5 am and called me from the departure lounge at 5 :15 ????

Are waits horrendous? Last time I entered there was no wait. That was Thai nationals line however, international was maybe 10 minutes or so, probably even less.

Last time I exited at rush hour there also was hardly any line, and last time I took a flight in the early morning it was walk straight through as well.

While there can be a long line when arriving in Phuket (especially if several planes land at the same time), since the new international terminal opened, I've never had more than a 15 minute wait at immigration upon departure. My last 6 am flight out of Phuket required about 3 minutes to get through immigration. 

Just a quick update, albeit a bit delayed.  There was literally no one in front of me in the immigration line - I just stepped forward, and was done in about 30 seconds.

 

Then I had an hour and 20 minutes to kill in the airport.  Ahh - the question that never goes away.  When to get to the airport...
