The Thai women’s national volleyball team was defeated by South Korea in the second round of the 20th Asian Women’s Volleyball Championships in Seoul, but still advanced into the next round.

Coach Danai Sriwatcharamethakul pitched the best Thai players against the South Koreans -- Pluemchit Thinkhao, Nusara Tomkham, Wilawan Apinyapong, Ornuma Sithirak and Makkila Kanthong.

Playing at the Jamsil Arena, the Thai spikers, who earlier won three straight matches, went down 1-3 (20-25, 25-23, 17-25 and 21-25) to the hosts in the second Group E match.

Despite the loss Thailand still advances into the next round along with South Korea, and will play against either China or Japan tomorrow (Aug 24).

Author must mean 'the best players available'. Atcharaporn, Kokram (Beam) & #20, who I call Nid Noi, are not even there. That's half of their starting lineup. I have not been impressed with this new coach for the past year. The wifey & I have watched every televised match we could pick up for the past 5-6 years.
