Police and immigration officials in Phitsanulok went to a local market after the suspicious behavior of a foreign man featured online.

The man - believed to be from the middle east - has been involved in sleight of hand scams on many traders in the northern Thai town.

He would buy and pay for goods that he would then ask to return.

Using a sleight of hand trick he would confuse traders and steal their money before purchasing more goods.

A video on the Manager site showed him operating in Phitsanulok.

Police went to the Ruam Jai market where their investigations revealed that the thief has now headed for Chiang Mai.

If the public see him they are asked to call the Phitsanulok police on 0 - 5525 - 8777.
