Police found and seized 450 kilogrammes of crystal meth or “ice” when a 10-wheel truck hit a road island on the southbound Phetkasem road in Phetchaburi’s Muang district Friday night.

The accident happened at 8.30pm under the flyover connecting Phetkasem road to the downtown district in Tambon Raisom.

The driver, Adinan Laeha, 45, from Narathiwat, and his 18-year-old son were arrested after the drugs were found. The two suffered slight injuries.

The impact saw 26 gold-coloured plastic bags fall from the back of the truck onto the road. Some bags broke open, revealing the drugs inside.

Police checked the back of the truck and found that the truck was transporting a full load of animal feed in white sacks.

Police found 15 sacks among the animal feed containing 30 gold plastic bags; each plastic bag contained one kilogrammes of crystal meth.

The two suspects were taken to the Muang Phetchaburi police station for questioning.

What are the odds of accident involving 450 kg of ice? Imagine how much is getting through!

Drugs= big money... lots of influential people making more % than the banks would give them !

One has question which "corporate" has the funding for such large amounts, as they would factor in such possible losses into the profit and loss sheets. Funding did not come from a "mum and dad" village operation for this one.

Too powerful to ever be caught though.

Just comes to show that the drug business is still very much robust and flourishing under the very noses of law enforcements everywhere, enough to trust a duffus driver to deliver such high value cargo knowing that if anything happened to it, there is a lot more where it came from...
