Hotel Advice

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

After yet more advice from the people in the know, i had planned on staying at the Dusit Thani resort in Cha Am for 3 days between 26th July and 29th July but was told by the reservation depatartment today that it is a long weekend and they are fully booked, so was wandering if anyone could recommend a hotel of the same quality within the same price range or even better cheaper?

Thanks in advance

Chris

There could be a holiday at that time but my Thai calendar is not showing it.

Go Internet bookings, they are cheaper than hotels direct. Most likely, the capacity has been sold to the agencies that trade over the net and the hotel has no visibility of what is available.

The Dusit's a lovely hotel. It's actually the only one I've actually stayed at in HH (I live here now). The Sofitel would be comparable (if not better). I think the Hyatt Regency would probably also be comparable. Maybe the Anantara. Putahracsa is also very nice (very chic & minimalist) & there's a few new boutique hotels now too. I've heard very good things about the Veranda Lodge, but it's perhaps not quite Dusit standard. Out of town in Pak Nam Pran (Pranburi) is the Evason, which is also lovely.

Good luck in finding a nice place for your trip. :o

Our family just spent two weeks at the Anantasila Villa. 6 km south of Hua Hin. Right on the beach. They have chairs, umbrellas and trees on the beach, so you can sit/lie in the shade all day. Pool, restaurant, bar and internet. Some rooms have kitchenettes. Very peaceful and picturesque hotel with a friendly staff.
