Nissan NV slx pick up help

Featured Replies

Hello, I am trying to find out what spark plugs I need and what gap is required for 1998 Nissan NV slx pick up ( 1600 cc ) I do not have a manual and have not had much luck trying to find one. Any help would be greaty appreciated.

NGK BKR5E

Champion RC12YC

If on LPG go one or two heat ranges cooler - beware of NGK, higher number is cooler

I.E. BKR6E is cooler than 5

Rest of the world higher number is hotter

Use Iridium plugs too - noticeable improvement in mileage and power

Correction - not all of the worlds plug makers use the same scale

Check brand before assuming

That's some claim.  What sort of noticeable power increase do you think Iridium plugs will give?  Something that's measurable?  I doubt it.

Seat of the pants - and fuel mileage increase.

Doubt what you want.

So nothing measurable, then.

You'd need at least 5bhp to be able to feel any seat of the pants difference and new plugs won't do that.

There isn't a plug on the market that that doesn't claim increased fuel efficiency and just getting the gap correct will do that.

Ah TVF policeman is back with his usual inane questions, be nice to see some input instead?

I can vouch 100% for the HUGE increase in Power Iridium plugs give, my mileage also has near doubled, CO2 omissions are down to Zero, BHP has increased substantially, mid range grunt now has increased, an added bonus has been the house AC efficiency has improved and the kids are doing better in school. - Happy

Glad you agree with me.  Sorry that you seem to object to my having an opinion about some very doubtful claims, though.

By the way, it's the claim about "noticeable power increases" made by some people by changing to a different brand of plug that are "inane", to use your word.

I have no objection to facts being posted - just post what you believe to be true rather than the "trial" before the facts ????

What part of fuel mileage increase do you not understand ?

Have to 'measure' it to note the increase - no ?

To say that is not 'measurable is "just weird"

As said - believe, not believe, could give a FF

Lazada has plenty of sparkplugs. AliExpress too.

But it's ok for you to conduct your "trial" and judge me, eh, you don't have any objections to that, do you?  What's the word I'm looking for here?...ah, there it is, hypocrisy.

I'm talking about your "increase in power" claim, that minute difference is not practically measurable or noticeable!  What part of that do you not understand?

As you've measured the difference, just out of curiosity what would be the specific improvement in fuel consumption figures that you've seen?

Where are you. Any auto parts store will have them. Just right Nissan NV 1600 on a piece of paper and show a picture of a spark plug.

The only part of pantomime Thai they wont understand is "He's behind you"
