webfact Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Thailand road carnage: Horror accident leaves three dead in Ratchaburi Picture: 77kaoded Horrific pictures on the site of 77kaoded showed the aftermath of an accident on the Petchkasem highway near the "Meuan Fan" U-turn in Pak Thor district of Ratchaburi. It happened around 5.45 am yesterday morning. An Isuzu pick up with its roof shorn off was lying in the central ditch facing the wrong way. It had hit a lamppost in the center of the road before spinning. Three young people were dead at the scene. On the back seat was a 19 year old woman. Picture: 77kaoded Propelled out of the vehicle and lying in water mixed with fuel were two males, one 23 and one 17 years old. Both were from Ratchaburi. Police said that the pick-up had been fitted with a dash cam but this had come off. They were trying to find it in the water of the drain and hoped it might indicate exactly what had happened. Accidents on Thailand's roads can legitimately be described as carnage, notes Thaivisa. About 24,000 to 26,000 are believed to be killed annually on the nation's roads making it one of the worst for road accidents in the world. The last information was 12,000 dead in 10 months, reason to be proud of the improvement or to be afraid of what awaits us in the month and a half that still remains of 2019! The boys will have dismantled the dash video camera before leaving to hide what they wanted to do! 4

Popular Post seajae Posted November 14, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 14, 2019 obviously a lot of speed was involved for that much damage, how many deaths will it take before the govt will make the police start patrolling the roads at all hours of the day and night to stop this carnage. The thai driving/riding is pathetic at best, the far greater majority if not all have no idea of the road rules and simply dont care as long as they can do as they want, they even promote the fact that thais ignore the laws because they always have and you take your life in your hands if you even walk in Thailand as they refuse to stop at stop signs, red lights & pedestrian crossing. Way past time police were forced to administer the road rules but then again they dont know them either so it would be a total joke, Thailand, hub of road deaths and lazy police 1 2
Scot123 Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 I used to cringe everytime we would see pickups with people in the back mostly children speeding along. I would just say "eggs". The government came so close to doing the right thing and for once I was praising them. Think the praise lasted a week, then the government back tracked. Stop this practice including baht buses and 100% helmet policing and watch the road death numbers fall.
hotchilli Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 Thais are not open for change on the roads. The government pay lip service by introducing laws which are never enforced. To be honest most Thais are happy just the way things are, only westerners as such pay any notice!

ubon farang Posted November 14, 2019 Posted November 14, 2019 All i will say is 2 things watch the RTP in action or better still nonaction in thailand and watch the way Thais drive. You are safer in dodgem cars at the show
shady86 Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 These young blood should not be driving. At least they didn't cause any harm to innocent lives.
JaiLai Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 it says there was a lamp post in the centre of the road??? funny place for a lamp post..... you read so many stories of car wrecks here they're not even shocking anymore!
