PHUKET:-- Three Korean tourists were injured early this morning when the passenger van that was taking them from Phuket International Airport to Patong slammed into a car that was out of control after hitting the central reservation on Thepkarsattri Rd.

Thalang Police Deputy Chief Lt Col Phichai Phupommin reported that the accident occurred in front of PTT gas station on the southbound of Thepkrasattri Rd in Moo 5, Thepkrasattri, at about 2am today (Nov 15).

When police arrived at the scene, rescue workers had already taken the three tourists to Thalang Hospital, Lt Col Phichai said.

Is there in Thailand any van under control?

According to the van driver who then couldn't avoid hitting the sedan, owing to the safe distance he was driving behind the sedan...

Dashcam video anywhere?

Dashcam video anywhere?

And of course he was not speeding either?!?!????????????

I allow myself to suspect that the van driver was going too fast (the stable calls) and without the necessary safety distance!

I suspect the car in front of him reversed into the van!

Well maybe in the far distant future we might read about a farang crashing into a farang but don't hold your breath on that one.

No doubt more tourists will go home and recommend to their friends, don't go Thailand for holiday, crazy mini bus drivers, too dangerous.

Just another day on Thai roads, except it was early morning... nothing like getting a head start!

Are we sure the car hit the central reservation BEFORE hitting the mini van? Would like the story from the Koreans' perspective. Maybe the mini van went in to the back of the car causing it to hit the central reservation...

Just giving some ammo to the conspiracy theorists as this thread doesn't have anywhere near as many responses as normal.

One very serious matter that appears to have been missed here is the efficiency of the people who should be doing there job faster than anyone else.

It doesn't mention how long it took anyone to get there , only that the emergency people did their job  before the police arrived . Maybe the emergency services got there in 3 mins , maybe 1 hour .

You missed the point completely!
I did not find fault with the emergency services, they obviously did a good job as they got the victims to the hospital long before the Police arrived.
I do wish that some people would read the response of others before making themselves look stupid
