PHUKET: The entire electricity network for the island will receive a long-awaited boost at the end of this month as new high-voltage supply lines from the mainland go live on Nov 30.

The move will deliver more stable electrical supply, say officials, who expect a dramatic fall in the number of power surges, brownouts and blackouts caused by overdrawing on the current system afflicting residents and businesses.

Although an official notice informing the pubic has been issued, there is no cause for alarm or any precautionary measures to be taken by the public, assured Boonthum Charoenpong, Manager of the Phuket branch of the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA).

Just had a major upgrade of the aerials in our district....never had more power outages since!

Good stuff, now get some water pipes plumbed in.

Oh, wait...

"Although an official notice informing the pubic ".....this one has me worried a bit. I am here protecting my wife, just in case.

Al least now the water pumps will have power..... Just need some water first.

Where is the rain making squad when you need them.....on an annual maintenance holiday...almost forgot..
