Last tuesday am.12th Nov. I had money transferred from an English bank to my Bangkok Bank Account, today it is midday Monday 18th Nov., and money still has not arrived. Is this time to tranfer normal.

How did you do the transfer?  That may be a key factor.  Did they provide an estimated time?

Afraid i don't know, my nephew who is a company accountant, did it for me. They said 3-4 days.  But i guess that Sat & Sun do not count.

Bankdays, not including Saturday and Sunday.

Normally a "normal" electronic transfer from Europe to Bangkok Bank takes 3 bank days, at least from Denmark. It's however depending of time of day for the outgoing transfer, if after a certain time, typically 11 am or noon, the transfer will not begin before next day; and if it instant electronic Internet-banking or via a manual service, the latter can also delay it.

 

So Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Monday are 4 days, you should wait until tomorrow.

Bangkok Bank has just returned  the money to sender after 10 days with message "Account number incomplete"     It took them 10 days to discover that a zero was missing. !

4-5 days to get there, incomplete account number noticed, and 4-5 days to get back; that sounds about right.

NO, it should never have been accepted in the first place, it was an electronic transfer, and nothing was done until an inquirey from LLOYDS. Don't you understand, it was earning interest for them.

 

 

The money was re deposited on Tuesday 19th with corrected account number, today is Tuesday 26th and money has still not arrived. What in the hell is going on ?   Bank says usual "Come back tomorrow"

 

You may want to consider TransferWise.  It will likely arrive in 0-1 banking days into your account.  Make sure you initiate the transfer before noon London time to maximize the chance of having < 24 hour transfer time.

Re your original transfer 10 days ago, have you (or your son) done this type of transfer before to Bangkok bank (or any other Thai bank)? 

 

Did it arrive ok on those previous occasions? 

Where you using the same sending bank or a different one?

Why not next time trying to find someone able to copy correctly an account bank number?

To copy some numbers it's not rocket science if you are a minimum serious imo

Yes.. the way to go.. TransferWise.. I did a transfer a few days ago.. 20 minutes from my bank in Australia to  Bangkok Bank account.. good rate too.. ????
