Energy Minister Sontirat Sontijirawong

Energy Minister Sontirat Sontijirawong said on Tuesday (November 26) that the ministry was preparing measures as New Year gifts for Thais.

the profiteering by importers of foreign foods which only ever go up no matter how strong the baht.

Devalue your beloved Baht, it would be the best gift for all Thai and also for us farangs!

Then the price of imported goods would go through the roof. Likely a substantial increase in the money in the bank for extensions of stay as well. Be careful what you wish for.

I'd take an FX rate increase over paying more for imported goods!!

I'm not a Thai, but I'd like that.

Lower the VAT to 5% for the next two years minimum.

Every one wins.
