Flummoxed! How come man with war weapons was allowed to walk away scot free?

Daily News pulled no punches in suggesting that there were irregular goings on at the Muang Rayong police.

Their report followed news that a man called Namchoke Meesabai was stopped on Saturday while driving a Toyota Fortuner in Rayong on the eastern Thai seaboard.

A checkpoint set up by the Muang Rayong police near Wat Na Ta Khwan found a cache of war weapons and ammunition in the Fortuner.

There were two M16s and one X9 Para 1 - there were five magazines to go with these weapons.

In addition there were 423 5.56mm bullets and seven 9mm bullets.

Namchoke was taken into the police station but soon released without charge.

The weapons in question cannot be legally owned in Thailand, notes Thaivisa.

There were several latest developments described by the media with vocabulary and terminology indicating that they believed that the police had something to hide.

Provincial chief of police Pol Maj-Gen Chalong Sukjan called in the deputy chief of the Muang Rayong police Pol Lt-Col Khomsan Khamtunkaew to explain himself.

Following this Daily News said that the provincial chief said with a face full of stress that an investigative committee would be set up according to procedures.

He then quickly turned on his heels saying that he had a meeting to go to.

The chief of the Muang Rayong police Pol Col Damrong Uansoongnern said "curtly" that he had no details. He said it would be investigated before abruptly ending the phone call with the reporter.

Daily News said that Namchoke - who has the nickname "Shell Ban Laeng" - was prosecuted in 2016 for illegally possessing war weapons and possessing weapons that could not be registered.

Daily News used the term "Ngong" in their headline that means flummoxed or confused. Though the tone of their story left the reader in little doubt that something was afoot, notes Thaivisa.

And yet journalists in Thailand wearing bullet-proof vests whilst covering stories where shooting is happening, are arrested and charged with having a 'war weapon' - as Thai law classifies a bullet-proof vest as such.

Obviously as dangerous as an M16.

What a joke

You can't even get away with that in Texas lol.

brb having automatic guns and being let go.  seems legit.

Running guns to terrorists in order to capture them is a very risky game. The US has done this unsuccessfully several times. No one seems to learn from past mistakes.
