Mandatory or optional renewal for old DTAC Sims?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have the same prepaid DTAC Sim since 2014/2015, not sure.

I received this SMS :

"เพื่อการใช้งานที่ดีขึ้น กรุณานำซิมเดิม+บัตรปชช.เปลี่ยนซิมใหม่เบอร์เดิมที่ร้านดีแทค ก่อนสิ้นเดือนนี้รับเน็ตฟรี10กิ๊กใช้ได้7วันค่ะ"

According to google trad it means: "For better usability Please bring the original SIM + NACC card. Change the new SIM to the original number at DTAC. Before the end of this month, get 10 free internet for 7 days."

Anyone know about that, how is it processed?

Is it mandatory?

Any advantage getting a new sim?

Any disvadantage? I use promo package from resellers and i've read several time that they are not compatible with new sims.

Thanks

If it's just a new 4G SIM, then no disadvantage. You will still be eligible for the packages available for SIMs activated before the 1st of March this year.

I have an old sim also. I do not use my phone for any internet access ever, only phone calls and occasional text. Am I right in assuming if I continue using in this manner there should be no problem and don't need to change?

I got 3 phone calls from a DTAC number but they couldn't speak English.  I went to my local DTAC shop and the man said my SIM card is old (6 years) and needed to be replaced for better 4G service.  No charge, took about 5 minutes.  Same phone number, same plan.  Easy peasy.

I got the exact same message a week ago. My question is: if I don't change the SIM by the end of the month, does it mean I might lose my number?

TIA...
