Is There Any Thai Vendor Who's Dependable?

I am so tired of dealing with flakes in this country.

Thai people don't seem to mind having their time wasted, but where I come from we do.

For example, I went to a supposedly major money exchange with a reasonably large sum of money this morning. As god as my witness the guy said "we had the money but my Mom took it".

He said it would be ready at 5. At 4:41 I was in the car and about to leave. I got a message from the guy "it won't be ready until 6".

This kind of <deleted> happens every single day.

Do they teach not being dependable in school in this country?

It is often like this here. So many times they told me "tomorrow". But tomorrow never happened. In the meantime I know this and don't care anymore. "Tomorrow" often has the meaning of perhaps and even this is an optimistic view.

I usually get no message at all when things are late or even cancelled,

This guy is great, can I have his number? ????

Yes, most everything is different in the country we all come from.  But that is the lure, isn't it...

Being disappointed in goods, services, and pricing goes with the easy access to wine, women, and song.

Try not to make comparisons to your home culture...Thais will be Thais...they bristle when compared to what they believe are inferior cultures.

Exactly, so many here wont it to be "Just like home" it aint, for better or worse! :goof:

You are the person who is dependable by not moving on right away after hearing he is short of cash.
Things work different here, you are aware for it, so you kind of waste your own time by ignoring the odds getting this kind of behaviour.

That aside, it is kind of obvious in Thailand and many other countries that 5PM is not 5PM. There is always 1 hour space around it.

Because it is foreign doesn't mean it is good, what place are the universities ranked?
