Found in a bedroom at his house were ecstasy, ketamine, cocaine, two types of ganja, scales and plastic bags for distributing the drugs. He admitted at the police station that it was all his.

No mention of cash nor jewelry...

When have you read of a bust without wads of cash being found with the drugs?  And jewelry, seems like heavy gold chains and expensive watches would be part of his "personna".

Perfect example of what I have been saying, Thais are not all about the money.

I wonder what will happen to all the cash he has in bank accounts and elsewhere maybe!

With the right connections he would have stayed out of trouble. Offering bribes after the arrest is too little, too late.

An un-kosher prison cell awaits. Farewell, amigo. :intheclub:

Oiy vey! My life already!????????

And, it would seem that that he offered the $1million in front of all present, therefore the cops not much option than to decline.

But why isn't be charges with offering a bribe?  More background not revealed?

He is not very smart , 1 million is for a small bust, in his case he had to offer 3-5 million and all would have been a misunderstanding ????

PS. I am pretty sure they meant baht not bucks

The Jerusalem Post:

"Yohai Gild, one of the pioneers of cannabis cultivation in Israel and founder of Better Cannabis, has been arrested in Thailand on suspicion of dealing different types of illicit drugs at parties on the Thai island of Ko Pha Ngan.

He was later released on bail."

Perhaps bail cost 1M$...

Not exactly the way to keep a low profile flashing every thing around town.  But, not all crooks are smart and I have no problem with them having that short coming

Not smart but mainly arrogant thinking he is untouchable.  Not unique among this type.

Find it hard  to believe they turned down that.alot of brown envelopes for sure.maybe it was all on camera and mics.they wished it was more private or no film.

Just because a coked up drug dealer says he's got 1 million usd doesn't mean he actually does.

All the locals in Phangan knew him as a poser. He is a showoff.
They didn't turn down any brown envelopes -> because there weren't any.

People that really have a cash flow of 1million dollars don't deal drugs in Thailand.

Obviously insulted at an offer of 1,000,000

15,000,000 may of made the chief to do some serious musing, plus future kickbacks.

Lets face it he was aiming at a 30,000,000 bt house

The drug dealer goes to Bangkok Hilton for a very long time and somebody suddenly and unexpected get rich.

Drug dealers don't deposit money in banks or keep it in the house, they stash it somewhere on the island.

Slightly out of touch

One of America's most notorious crime lords, Frank Lucas, got caught because he went out partying one night and wore a fancy mink coat to a night club. Paparazzi caught his image and the FEEB was like "Who is this guy in the mink coat?" and started looking into him. Boom, game over. He would live to forever regret the night he let his model wife pressure him into wearing that mink coat. RULE OF THUMB: Always pretend to be poor, even when you're fabulously rich.

Why not take the 1 million and then say, "Sorry, we don't accept bribes!!  Lock him up!!!"

I'm sure they will take everything from his house......plus have him politely tell them his bank account information.   He's definitely not cash poor.......

He should have offered the money before he was caught...........its different you know !
