by the way, did you know Big C is my nickname?

The Hua Hin ladies I have asked refer to you as Mr. 500 b. ????

Yesterday they denied a Korean on Pattaya Nua after checking temp.

Just told him to leave no entry.

Are you living in hope?

And the parking attendant could help you reverse up

And I am sure if there would be no controls or they would let anybody in then some people would still complain.

I am sure their temperature control is far away from perfect. But if it keeps only one infected person out of a store then that is already good news.

Mean while dozens of asymptomatic carriers are allowed inside to continue their super spreading still makes it a superficial gesture at best.

Happend to me yesterday. The reading said 36 which is not correct also but was jot a problem.

Everyone in front of me had 39 , not 37.

I don't think the termos used are any good.

In Big C, Lampang, this morning, my wife and I were scanned with an identical reading of 32.4. On a board in Thai it stated above 36.3 and that is too high for automatic entry. it seems to me that our reading was affected by two minutes earlier, exiting our air-conditioned car!

from other reports on here, taking temperature from an external exposed surface of the body after walking in hot sunshine, does reflect a hotter forehead but this should not automatically be diagnosed as fever!

I think that fever is reflected from a "core" body temperature - am I right?

Unlikely as 36-37c is normal.

Fever is 37.5c and up.

I was scanned last week at Makro which shows 36 C so no problem even after a walk in the sun.

They should do a more accurate test like put the thermo under the armpit or mouth.

Splashing water on head is cheating the system.

Mouth? No thank you very much!

the security guards got bored of pretending to be security guards and wanted to play doctor.

Yeah, but as long as the security guards don't decide to play 'doctors and nurses" . . . . !!

They have scanned and denied people, told them to sit a few minutes, re scanned them and then let them enter. It's a miracle that they were cured so quickly

Was there a man in a long dress and lots of bread and fish near by? Rumour has it that a long while ago he used to turn water into wine, but only between certain times.

Went to 3 different Makro's in the Pathumthani area today looking for an item. 1 scanned me. 2 didn't.  No problem getting through at the one that was scanning. At best it was only a minor annoyance. I was more shocked by it than anything. I paused briefly so they could hit me with their ray gun, and then kept right on walking. No idea what they would have done if my temperature had been elevated. It was a small girl who was doing the scanning. Would she have run after me and tried to tackle me to the ground?

No such drama today obviously, but I can imagine what could have happened under different circumstances.

She would probably have rugby tackled you and then savaged your ankles.

Scanned today, no lines, let in immediately. Nice verification of normal temp as I have no thermometer of my own anyway. Can't see that hurts do this, might even help, though unlikely. Got out quickly as the lady checking carts knows me and no longer bothers to look before stamping my receipt. ????

No danger of deportation because those things do nothing to reduce the body temperature.  They may make the wearer feel cooler, as would anything damp and cold, but that's all.

Something damp on my head, i don't mind that, but i prefer it to be warm. ????
