Check in with my wife on the 14 march 2007 for 2 nights at the dusit resort in Hua Hin.The hotel was beautifull but i am still angry about the breakfast on the first morning : When i arrive at the restaurant i asked a girl working there "is the breakfast include in the price of the room?" and she answered "yes the breakfast is include in the price of the room" before bring me to a table. I really enjoy the buffet before receiving the bill of a big thousand baht for it, i got very angry, i explained to 3-4 waitress i only took it because they said it's include in the price of the room, otherwise i never took it and i not agree to pay.then they gave me on the phone a lobby girl who was just abble to tell me the price is not include. On check out explication again to 3-4 girls working on lobby and to the european manager who just offer me i pay the bill.

I paid it but i reallly like to know if it's the politic of the hotel : just a small lie to 50 customer like me every morning at the breafast will become 20 million bath a year. Good business ,isn't it? Maybe not for the future....

hotels offer so many different booking packages these days it can get very confusing as to what is included and what is not.

if you booked on the net you may have booked a cheaper package that didnt include breakfast , but i would have thought that hotels of the dusit standard would automatically include a breakfast in the price of the room.

their official website is strangely unclear about it

i would check your booking conditions and then take it up with the head office if there was a mistake.

May well be that the OP missed the fine print while booking it cheaply. There is so little difference when booking over the net that any lower price draws some less service.

Rock bottom price (October of each year) at the Hua Hin Marriott is 3800B but it says - breakfast included. The breakfast itself would be 400B per head. So, someone who booked it at 3400B could be in for a surprise. The servers have the means (just that touch screen computer) to tell whether the breakfast is included in the price.

I am just surprised that place like Dusit allowed this misunderstanding happen.

Sounds to me a misunderstanding.

The Dusit chain of hotels usually issue coupons for breakfast upon checking in.

If the OP has gone to breakfast and asked the question the way he did, I doubt the answer was as precise as printed above.

My experience is that the answer would have been "Yes, yes" and you would have been shown a table.

The answer would have been give having not fully understood the question originally posted :o

It would be far better practise for the hotel to waive such a bill when there clearly has been a misunderstanding. Why upset a guest and cause bad PR over a breakfast bill?

When I stayed at the Chiang Rai Dusit recently, having checked in, I went and used the sauna. After a few minutes, there was a knock on the door and I was asked to get out until I had paid the 50 baht fee; an extra charge of which I was unaware!
