Two Thai men are in police custody after allegedly confessing to raping an American tourist on Koh Phangan.

Police said a 26 year old man from Surat Thani and a 23 year old man from Songkhla were arrested on Thursday.

Police said the two men had been working on the island installing furniture and had been staying in the same block of bungalows as the victim.

Police said the men had seen the victim earlier in the day and waited until her boyfriend had left the bungalow before entering the property. One of the men then kept looked out while the other carried out the assault.

My kid wanders around to places like that and I always worry.

Whats the chance these 2 get released and a couple of Laos lads get pinned for it.

No mention of break-in.

Cut off their dicks! Salutory lesson for other possible criminals!

Draconian? Yes, but they won't do it again and others may give rape a miss.

Gerv,

you have some issues to work out...

yeah it’s the victims fault b/c some reporter doesn’t provide a complete and thorough summary report...

so they confess to waiting for the Bf to leave with a Premeditated plan of one attacker and one on lookout...pretty damn convincing of guilt

Another small nail in the tourists coffin for those actually coming

Nobody is coming to a virus infected country.

Two terrible human beings.  They need lengthy prison sentences and hefty fines to repay.

And not even Burmese

I know it has been said many times but will say it again, why they hide their faces, how they want people to recognize them and protect themselves against potential future rapes if they stay anonymous.... show their faces all over the social media and quite sure they will be segregated even by their own relatives/family

That would be acceptable once they are proven guilty.

What is it with Thailand islands, risky for young women

The horrid truth is that far too many places are unsafe for women, even their own homes many times.

No country is immune from sexual violence.
