Immigration's smart car keeps rolling - 17 foreigners arrested Image: TNA MCOT TNA MCOT reported that 17 foreigners have become the latest people arrested after operations conducted utilizing the BMW smart cars in the far north of Thailand. Immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang was at a news conference giving details about the latest misdoings of foreigners in the kingdom. Operations had taken place in Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai and Sanpatong, Chiang Mai. The overstaying foreigners included 5 Chinese nationals, 8 from Myanmar, three from Laos and one person referred to only as an African. If there is no more left, then they can not tarnish our reputation more in that area.
